Have you tried some WD-40?

And I was afraid I started seeing things.

For a second I thought that was Epstein on the bed:

I was joking. Qt has its place and can be useful. But I believe the days of non-web based, rich clients is over. Because Qt is not really “platform independent” anymore. When Qt was invented, only GNU/Linux, OSX and Windows existed. Now we have mobile phones, tablets, ultrabooks/chromebooks, much more powerful browsers, smart watches. That’s why Qt is not something I would prefer, as I need my apps to run literally everywhere

I was mistaken; you are right!

Oh my, I just had to puke a little bit.

Yes, this is in fact true. However, after Portal 2, they kept on working on the engine for CS:GO, Alyx and CS2. That’s why those engines are a bit more modern and add new visual effects and also a lot of new capabilities. This mod uses a heavily modified engine of CS:GO for Portal 2, called “Strata Source”. Unfortunately, VALVe does not license Source 2 engine to third parties, as it seems, or else the would probably switch to this engine.

Edit: I was spreading inaccurate information and fixed this now. Thanks for pointing it out, @mschae@discuss.mschae23.de

How ironic…

I believe they just took Portal 2, put a newer engine under the hood and added a bunch of tools so that people can make mods way easier. One nice side effect is, that it now looks a bit better if you just want to play the campaign.

I believe exoscale is not Swiss owned anymore. An alternative would be Infomaniak.

I get that it sucks. Are there any alternatives, where I have one codebase for all platforms?

Recently, IONOS and Nextcloud announced their new, sovereign office suite called “Euro-Office” and claimed they were using components of ONLYOFFICE. It seems they are doing so without checking the licences first and without cooperating with them.

Original announcement:

Nextcloud and Ionos are promising a modern, open-source office suite for the summer. To achieve this goal, they have forked OnlyOffice.

ONLYOFFICE reply:

Based on publicly available information, the “Euro-Office” project uses technology derived from ONLYOFFICE editors in violation of our licensing terms and of international intellectual property law.

The controversial tech company Palantir provides surveillance technology to militaries and intelligence services around the world. In Switzerland, however, its pitches have been rejected by both government authorities and the army. Internal documents have now revealed why.

I currently use Docker Compose to manage my containers and Borg Backup to backup all the volumes. Now I would like to have a bullet proof service, which I can restore basically instantly everywhere. For that I would like to put everything into a MicroVM.

Does anyone have experience with this and could share some details what I need to have/do on a greenfield?

This here is trichoderma ear rot in an organic field. This 100 day variety was chewed on by an earworm. The damaged kernals allowed trichderma to enter and infect the ear. This ear rot produces many toxins and is a big no for consumption.

The twist - Trichoderma is usually a beneficial organism in the soil. It feeds on other pathogenic fungus/bacteria and is applied extensively for biological control.

Although normally a secondary pathogen, it has mutated to become a primary pathogen in both Italy and Germany in recent years.

I am heavily using Cloudflare for many of my web services. Now I’m looking for a European alternative. I’m not just talking about a CDN, but also all the security focused features. Any ideas?
