"stop the infighting!" as we literally burn the planet to the ground for shitty AI, technofascists steal ALL our data, they use AI and data centers to power the fascist surveillance state, and power the Israeli genocide.

I'm sorry comrade, but fuuuuuuuucckkkkk ai.

I've tried RSS on and off for 25 years. I just never found a way to use it that isn't completely clunky. 🤷‍♀️

Truly an unpopular opinion.

Fuck AI and everybody using it

What is the point of wifi on an e-reader? I've never once in 10 years used wifi on my e-readers. Simply turning it off is a much more realistic solution than asking somebody to install a new OS to their device.

Side loaded meaning just loading epubs through calibre?

Can't I just turn off wifi? Like, what's the point?

2-4 or 5 I'd say is the hardest. Just annoying little shits that occupy all your time, and the real cute baby stage is well done and over. 4-7 ish they start developing real interests and you can do actual stuff with them. 8-13 or so they're just annoying kids again. 13-20 they just annoying teenagers lol

Try to just enjoy the little moments that are awesome. You are never getting those back.

But seriously 2-3 sucks... There's a reason they say it's the "terrible 2s". You really are doing awesome! Nobody ever prepared me for how fucking awful being a parent is ... And it never ends. I'm constantly tired. Like I said though, it's just different through the different stages.

It gets way better. And worse. Just different. You're doing awesome!

What do you mean? I'm an active member in DSA for years now. I'm active in rapid response groups. I'm fighting against Proud Boys and ICE. I make and distribute whistle kits. I'm part of the Community Defense working group and I help marshal events, and add security. I make maps and voter lists for our electoral working group to canvass. I march with striking workers and provide labor support. I provide child care so people can attend events like chapter meetings without worrying about their kids. I'm active in our campaigns against datacenters and flock cameras; I've gone to many many board meetings and town halls to voice these concerns and get the communities active. Similar with our BDS campaign. I've personally gotten many people signed up and active.

What have you done lately?

Considering the USSR by and large killed more Nazis than anybody, I'd say a shitload of community organizing stopped them.

Show up alone, you get arrested. Show up with 100 people, you get shot. Show up with 100,000 people, now we have a movement. Will your neighbors show up with you? Or will you face the Nazis alone?

[–] silentjohn@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

I’m not

you might want to start, instead of armchair arguing against DSA...

We outnumber them hella more than that. The question is, have you been organizing in your community?

Some of my best PRs are when I'm tired and sick and dont feel like working out. You are capable of so much!
