Where no one appears to take initiative, no one responds to messages, lines of communication are confusing or things are not communicated at all, and so on?

It's bringing me back to where I feel like I have to try to actually get things done and create momentum by myself and I'm the babiest/newest person so I'm nervous to bring criticisms even though they're encouraged.

Is this common? Am I perhaps being too critical? I figure no one can answer that one for me but jfc I was hoping to be more supported by people who claim that demcen is important.

If anyone can share how they go about expressing concerns/criticisms constructively, lemme hear it

I want to try to have a community screening about the history of Venezuela that isn't propaganda slop.

I found this one but I think I may have to email the director to get a copy.

Gimme all the suggestions if you've got em!

This album has floated around my orbit for years and I just never listened to it until the youtube music algorithm forced it upon me during a road trip, and it's my new favorite.

I want to try to compile resources about different community mobilization tactics for when ICE is conducting raids, specifically for all of the tenants/neighbors in the vicinity. I have heard of the whistle thing which I think is a smart piece of a puzzle but I want to try to help people build more cohesive acute support networks

A friend and I are going to be these lil guys. Costume's are almost done, they are silly as hell.

The last costume I did years ago was somewhat-sexy bowser and it ruled. I somehow came across a plastic Ninja Turtles shell with straps that probably came from a costume at a thrift store. I spray painted it and made the spikes and everything, I still have that thing because it came out so good

It isn't clear yet because my professor is disorganized and vague as fuck, but I may have to do some interviews for an assignment about living with autism/ADHD/etc.

If anyone would be willing to participate that would be awesome! I think it could be cool to get perspectives from people who don't live in the US, but it's not required.

Thank you for your consideration rat-salute

Prevention methods include staying in well-built places if traveling, using insecticides and bug spray, wearing clothes that cover your skin and not eating raw fruits and vegetables, as the infection can also be acquired orally or through the mouth via contaminated food.

Well at least it won't matter that crop yields are plummeting due to climate change. We won't be able to eat any of it anyway

Note: this surface does not have a detachable keyboard

So my partner is someone who leaves 100+ Firefox windows open, 5 programs up, and never ever shuts down his laptop. After a year or more of this his laptop would take 30 minutes or more to try to boot up, or wouldn't at all so I suggested that he reinstall Windows 11. After that it seemed like the problem was fixed and it would start up just fine, but after a week or so of use, his keyboard and touch pad stopped working completely. He told me that he tried a bunch of fixes, including installing new drivers, and nothing has worked. No idea if these two things are related but I assume so.

I wasn't around to see exactly what he did, so I was wondering if any of you fine people might be able to help troubleshoot. Really hoping his lappy isn't a lost cause

So I have returned to the gym in the past couple weeks and I hit a pretty good stride, I'm stoked! Please tell me what you like to do so I can switch it up if I get bored

I have a lot of chronic physical pain that starts with my achilles tendon, to my knees, hip soreness, lower back, my right shoulder and my neck. So I'm starting from the foundation, and once I get the bottom half strongk I'm going to move on to upper body. (Still doing 1 upper body day though)

The lower body routine that I just put together is as follows and I would like to hear if you think it's decent or if I could change it:

  • Warm up
  • Body weight squats
  • Single leg calf raises (Weights)
  • Hip thrusts (Weights)
  • Leg Extension Machine
  • Leg Curl Machine
  • Hip Abductor/Adductor Machine

Because of my knees and lower back I am pretty reticent towards squats and dead lifts because I have had problems with them before, so if anyone can give tips on form that are helpful for you that would be great. Or if you experience issues with one of the body parts I mentioned I'd love to hear how you rehabbed it!

Yeah I just had to be pedantic lol my bad

Yeah I agree. Though I can see it bring really confusing since there are so many tendencies of anarchism, because people can kinda interpret anarchism how they please, that it can be easy for wires to get crossed and for people to incorporate anprim beliefs into their conception of what anarchism is, among other beliefs that not all anarchists agree upon. Idk if creating different distinct categories would really fix that though, kinda how you pointed out the MLM thing

I know of a couple irl who I believe really understand what they mean when they claim it. I've met others but idk if they got past the "after the revolution we should all love in communes in the woods part

I kinda feel like, on the internet at least, the loudest anarchists are post-left, apolitical western anarchists who seem to be the most antagonistic to communism with just all around nonsensical takes. I've also never really met a principled anarchist in real life, either. Probably why it gets such a bad rap a lot of the time and why I kinda side stepped the ideology myself

What the hell man, this argument doesn't even make sense. Opium poppies are opioids and would fit into the natural/herbal category. Kratom as well and that shit is insanely addictive. I understand where they come from when it comes to big pharma intentionally getting people hooked for profit, but aside from that this is just ignorant.

Kinda funny I found a two part article about disability and the Russian Revolution/USSR just yesterday, and how one of the very first disability advocacy orgs in written history (supposedly) was formed under Lenin. Need to read it though

Can a comment from an outside source be used as a tagline? Because hexbear NEEDS it

[–] ratboy@hexbear.net 0 points 9 months ago

Totally, kinda makes me wish I had my old beater car just to recreate that experience lol. Nothing quite like it

Yeah, it can be hard to figure out just what to say when it comes to topics like this. It's great that you're trying to be sensitive and do better, though! I think when talking about women's bodies especially its best to stay away from saying things like "masculine" or "skinny" or "fat", even if youre not attaching negative meaning to it.

This is coming from a person living in the US, so keep that in mind as i give this explanation, I'm also assuming this is a good faith question: oftentimes women of color are called masculine or manly in order to strip them of their femininity and insinuate that they are ugly because they dont fit very narrow, white beauty standards. It's considered misogynistic and racist. Also in the US "minorities" usually refers to people of color, so someone reading your comment could read it to mean "yeah, this person is puerto Rican so she has a masculine body type". I think the way your comment is worded looks a bit strange as well, like youre objectifying her on top of all that.

You saying that English is not your first language leads me to believe that those things weren't your intention and can even make your comment look like you are being complimentary, but if someone didnt know that it definitely looks questionable/racist
