If it's AI it has the best water reflections I've ever seen.

There's really no evidence to suggest it is AI though, when this exact thing has happened and been photographed multiple times in the past, pre-AI.

Fully agree with this. There's nothing beneficial to society about the tech giants taking all the ad profits, bypassing clicks to the real content-creators, causing their fiscal ruin. When information & research is the product, access should be paid.

Now do AI.

Haven't heard that name in a while.

I'll thank him for turning some young uninformed voters away from the LNP (or worse), but you don't win any voters long-term by being just as blind to criticism of the party you support, and his extreme and unexamined Labor bias got real old.

What people seem to keep forgetting is that under the ballroom is a bunker that is actually the main purpose of the project, and where most of the money is doing.

Trump wants a newer, even more impenetrable high-security fortress, which he doesn't intend to leave at the end of his term.

She has duckface.

I thought it was cured in the early 2010s. Sadly, some people don't take their immunizations.

Trump didn't get shot at.

The shooter didn't even get into the Correspondants Dinner, only the building entry and into the security checkpoint.

Sounds like 5-6 shots, and the video starts immediately into the shots so there may have been more beforehand.

And the cops missed every shot..

Amazing they didn't shoot each other or a bystander.

I know everyone is saying 'false flag' but there's not any evidence for that. It's not like Trump isn't widely hated in a country full of guns.

I feel bad for this 31yo guy because he has the balls to attempt what he sees as the only solution in a shitty situation, where every institution has utterly failed to prevent a fascist dictator from taking the Whitehouse, and he'll now no doubt spend the rest of his life in jail, or worse, for his brave attempt. He won't be pardoned by anyone, unlike all the Jan 6 felons.

FWIW I don't condone his action, because it normalises shooting politicians and there are far more idiots with guns and poor decision-making skills on the right than the left, but I still empathise with him.

So many good answers already taken.

I'm eating all the nuclear launch codes.

IKR, I can count on 1 hand the amount of times I've bumped into furries online or in real life and I'm no hermit in either domain.

Not that I would care if I did, but this is a very Facebook-like, 'I heard about a thing that doesnt impact me in any way or form, but it's different and strange to me and that makes me extremely angry'.

I don't think I've ever received such a shitty 'gift' before.

Is it possible to return it?

Does the Southern Poverty Law Center certify US elections in this morons brain?

Nope that's the individual states, and then Congress - both of which he famously tried to cheat, his co-conspirators were charged, tried, convicted, and jailed, and he never should have been allowed on ballots for 2024. The US is a circus of a democracy, and far from being the ringleader, Trump is just the headline clown.

I imagine the costs of all the military staff engaged in the war (or in supporting roles) is even higher.

Plus the soldiers with lifelong injuries that will now be paid for (maybe).

All in aid of the most epic self-defeating campaign to drive up petrol costs, inflation, (but most importantly - distract from the Epstein files).

"Dmitriy Kurashov is the first Russian soldier to stand trial in Ukraine for an alleged battlefield execution."

Hi all.

First, thanks for reading. I'm not exactly sure if this is the correct location to raise a concern about a ban/deletion, but I guess it's as good as any.

So:

  1. I dont know which mod it was. Log is redacted?
  2. post deleted & banned from the News@Lemmy.world community
  3. screenshot of modlog attached
  4. screenshot of comment attached.
  5. It was an appreciated post with 106 upvotes 26 downvotes at deletion and several positive responses yesterday. When I came back today (I'm in Australia so timezones..) the comment was deleted and I was banned - and several negative comments have appeared which I would have liked to respond to.

Original post: a news article about Proton Mail.

My post: Essentially I took the time to read the article and included the quotes of what was written by the CEO that was being discussed in the article - as many in the comments had surprised me by jumping straight to him being a literal Nazi. As not a single other commenter had included the quotes to discuss the source, I thought that would be a valuable contribution. I also gave my opinions which you can see in the comment on the modlog, the formatting is messed up so I included a screenshot of the (recreated) comment. https://lemmy.world/modlog/1347

What I didn't notice was that the article writer had omitted the first part of the Twitter post from the CEO in her quotation of him - so I quoted her, and in doing so missed the context that the CEO had actually started "Great pick by @realDonaldTrump" at the start - which does of course change the context of his Twitter post to praise. This was clarified for me in the angry responses. I would have edited my comment and owned my mistake, however stood by the rest of the comment regarding Proton's official follow-up.

So, is that deletion and ban fair?

Update 10 hours later: contacted a mod directly to see if i can find out more about the ban or perhaps get it remedied.

Update 48 hours later: contacted the entire mod team, and got back feedback from several of them - all helpful. My post has now been undeleted, and my account unbanned from the News community 👍
