Gotta tell my coworker today that his code is absolute dogshit and that me and one other guy are going to rewrite the whole thing. He is such a nice person though, I hope I won't break his heart.

I'd be interested to hear a potential use case where both applies:
- Steam deck is a viable option as work computer
- MS Windows is the better choice for the task

Unity is easy for beginners (that already know C# or at least Java) and has a really mature ecosystem. Unreal seems to be harder to get into but a beast in regard to possibilities.
I have used Godot last year and their own language is kind of neat. Similar to python with the added bonus of a type system (not mandatory) and a lot of paradigms like OO and functional patterns supported out of the box. Their IDE also got better / more stable over the last years (especially after the Unity fuckup).

Never understood how the solution to all platforms going to shit is making users upload their ID. This does neither fix the problem nor the symptom. I mean, I understand why it's done but not how people come to think this is a good idea.

Abgesehen davon, dass es mittlerweile ein ziemlich überholtes Konzept ist, habe ich nicht viel gegen die Zeitansage alle 15 Minuten. Es ist natürlich nicht so toll im Sommer nachts bei offenem Fenster aufzuwachen, weil man glaubt die apokalyptischen Reiter kommen einen holen, aber daran gewöhnt man sich.
Aber dieses verdammte Glockenspiel mehrmals mal am Tag muss doch wirklich nicht sein. Lustigerweise ist mir das selbe in einer deutschen Landeshauptstadt (!) schonmal aufgefallen. Wir mussten auf dem Balkon unsere Gespräche jedes mal 5-10 Minuten pausieren, weil die Kirche 3 Straßen weiter so laut war, dass man sein Gegenüber in einem Meter Entfernung akustisch nicht mehr verstanden hat. In einem Einzugsgebiet, in dem mit Sicherheit die meisten Menschen mehrere Jahre keine Kirche von innen gesehen haben, falls überhaupt. Ich hatte mir damals überlegt eine Petition zu starten, bis mir aufgefallen ist, dass daran deutschlandweit schon ganz andere gescheitert sind.
