Seeing this 4 panel in real moving picture had me in stitches

Sitting in a Portland OR (PDX) lounge right now with gummies in my pocket for this red-eye and relating to this meme right now.

Fucking chuckle worthy

Hey did you ever blow bubbles as a kid?

..

...

....

Well he's back in town and he wants your new number.

I love this... less weight and danger to others when he goes splat.

so much of American food has zero flavour, zero spices

Hey we're not all in the midwest... hahah - but no. America being a true melting pot means that we have access to every cuisine the world has to offer. The best part of that is the lack of conquest - we didn't go steal the worlds' best food, for a long time (not now unfortunatley) we opened our arms to people fleeing your country, and let them come here and succeed, opening restaraunts, food carts, shops, etc - and my tastebuds are eternally grateful!

You wouldn't see much, unfortunately...

On average ~25% of that rubber is synthetic, i.e. pertroleum/plastic based.

...and ~35% come from the clothes we wear. No clothes, no cars, sign me up.

The research combined real-world ocean observations with the models to determine the most reliable, and this hugely reduced the spread of uncertainty. They found an estimated slowdown of 42% to 58% in 2100, a level almost certain to end in collapse.

Rahmstorf, who has studied the Amoc for 35 years, has said a collapse must be avoided “at all costs”. “I argued this when we thought the chance of an Amoc shutdown was maybe 5%, and even then we were saying that risk is too high, given the massive impacts. Now it looks like it’s more than 50%. The most dramatic and drastic climate changes we see in the last 100,000 years of Earth history have been when the Amoc switched to a different state.”

Yikes.

Pedophilia is sexual attraction to kids, full stop. Our current justice system refers to it as rape because a child cannot consent - hence why we might think of pedos as having a power fixation, but they do not see themselves as rapists (as rapists do) - they want to bed and often marry children.

whereas the pedos like on Reddit and stuff who wanna actually sext kids do it for power

Silly to bring it up, but watch a few episodes of your boy Chris Hansen doing his thing... these men are not looking to rape, they are sexually aroused by children, not a power fantasy.

IMHO acting on pedophilia should be a capital offense - I do not believe these people can be reformed with our current understanding of brain chemistry. Maybe if we lived in Demolition Man world I'd be down to put them on ice forever.

Bonus: Always what you want to see in an elevator:

If he wasn't so damned cute he'd have a real problem on his hands.

Dropped one of my wife's favorite mugs. Anyone up for a paid commission/challenge to print a new handle? Have you ever seen this work? Thanks!

I should have let the sauce cool/thicken but I was hungry AF!

(she's not a giant, I promise ) 😅

I found an old external hdd with a bunch of unformatted media and wanted to import to my library quickly... Jellyfin does metadata collection pretty well (as of the most recent version, old versions were pretty bad at it) but requires a specific naming convention, e.g. Film Title (1900) - so, during some down time I wrote a quick little utility program in Go (so you can compile it regardless of platform) and a little registry script to add it to the right click menu if using windows.

For example, say you have a folder Manos.the.Hands.of.Fate.1966.1080p.REPACK.WEB-DL.AAC2.0.x264 containing a file 34535sdfs23sfg-some-complicated-hash-sdfgsdf.mp4, after installing this utility program you could right-click on the folder and select Rename Downloaded Media after which the folder would be renamed Manos the Hands of Fate (1966) and the contained file renamed to Manos the Hands of Fate (1966).mp4 as this is the format Jellyfin expects.

Nothing ground breaking here but wanted to share - hopefully this saves one of you a few minutes/hours of formatting!

I bought and paid for Nova Launcher like 15 years ago and it's been my go-to for that time; however, over the last year or so it's been abandoned and is a buggy mess.

What ship should I jump onto? (stock google launcher is giving me the ick)

Howdy all. I have a 33% avg grade, highly overgrown slope (~450' length, ~160' elevation change) at the edge of my property that was originally used by a railroad company 130 years ago to slide trees down to where they were building railroad ties. It is now exclusively a deer path (the poo on my knees can attest to that) and I had to scramble at several points to get up.

If you were in my deer poo covered shoes (and assuming I had cleared all the brush and fallen trees), would you build trail stairs, e.g.

or a small set of switchbacks (space is tight as I have like 30' of width to play with), e.g.

orrrrr would you just clear it out well and deal with sprawling for a few steeper parts? (my least favorite option as I would like to hike this several times a week when it's done)

I'm concerned with long-term maintenance but am willing the put in the upfront work! TIA

I've tried on r**** in the past and have had terrible luck. I'm launching a new startup and have a basic landing page but would like to make it more professional, inspiring, etc. I do not want to feed it into AI and I do want to hire someone who will feed it into AI.

I've searched communities for a hiring/designer wanted type place and have come up empty handed. Where do you guys go to find talented designers?

All the best, Internet friend
