I started some kind of anime themed browser game one day with the intent of wanting to see what kind of people would play such weeb trash.

Turns out the kind of people to play that were loyal friends to stay in touch with for over a decade and my future wife, too!

Yeah, I get that. I just feel like the general EOL of 2 years also works perfectly well with 15 years for most products.

Built-in obsolescence should be illegal. It's so wasteful

To be fair, my situation is fairly complex. Big house, multiple family members involved, tons of old furniture that's in the way, other tasks having higher priority. That plus a full-time job is draining enough for lazy me to not dig through all my piles and boxes in the hopes of achieving order.

But I threw out a couple of large household appliances today. Bit by bit...

I'm living in my new home since more than a year. I don't find the energy to move past that stage. I still don't know where my sunglasses and my battery charger are.

The first vtuber (I am aware of) debuted in 2016, making vtubers closer to 2012 than 2026.

Ketchup is a soft drink. It's fluid, made with fruit and sugar

I'm in the same boat. For many things I have zero experience in, LLMs provide me with good guidance and starting points. For me it was self-hosting and Smart Home. Of course hallucinations are real and the output can be nonsense, especially if your questions become increasingly niche. However some healthy skepticism, evaluation of answers and additional sources (just searching for key words online) keep me moving forward.

Just don't try to learn anything dangerous from it, like identifying mushrooms.

PS: all those links and tips in the comments are worth gold
