I think of it as being made by one of few really trustworthy organizations in tech.

Seriously. Not dystopian science fiction or a new novel by an AI version of George Orwell. Actual corporations — what America’s first Supreme Court Justice, John Marshall, in 1819 called “an artificial being, invisible, intangible, and existing only in contemplation of law” — are today voting in elections for everything from the mayor and town council to referendums on corporate taxes and limits on corporate behavior.

What could possibly go wrong?

There are, after all, more corporations than people in Delaware. They can now decide who’s going to run the government, what the laws are, and — through their votes to elect humans who’ll take corporate money to do what corporations want (something else that corrupt Republicans on the Supreme Court legalized) — even what regulations companies must follow and what limits there are on their behavior.

I doubt it can be done in time for the election.

For some reason all I see is a picture, not the article. Here's the link in case anyone else has the same problem:

May all Jeff Bezos's ventures be similarly successful.

The Liberals are determined to turn Canada into a surveillance state and share data with other "eyes" countries including the USA. This government is not looking to protect Canadians. And they haven't taken the objections on board, as evidenced by their statements that they need to "define" encryption, and that "the new amendments will aim to align the bill's encryption provisions with US counterparts." How can you look at all the history of the USA spying on its own citizens and think "Yep, Canada should copy that"? Not a government that's serving Canadians.

I'm not surprised tbh. This whole presidency has just been a clown show.

It's surprising that he's actually demanding renewables, but then "The very first phase will be natural gas" is exactly what you'd say if you had no real intention of ever getting it past phase one. It could be just words, designed to break down opposition. Hopefully it isn't.

Governor Spencer Cox says nuclear, geothermal, and solar power should help fuel the colossal Stratos Project.

"Elbows up" lasted exactly as long as it took Mark Carney to say it.

Mine (Liberal) sent a form letter that stated strong support for it and claimed (falsely) that this just brings Canada into line with what its allies have already done.

Rent-seeking has entirely replaced innovation in modern capitalism.
