I've also seen people say that you can stream from linux. I gather there were issues with steamos, or gamescope specifically. I'm not really sure what's true anymore.
Sounds the same as what I have, except for the beep. The ability to set the temperature seems nice, though I've never needed it. Usually I just grab it before it boils.
I would have bought the simplest one with only an on/off switch. The thing's a little too big ~~and it beeps~~, but now that I have it, I'll keep it until it dies or becomes nasty.
I can't make guarantees, but it should be fine. There's some microcontroller inside that's programmed to turn the voltage high or low. It just flicks the switch and doesn't know or need to know what happens behind it.

Not quite. You can flick a light switch when you've unscrewed the bulb.
At that point I would just burn it and only piss on it once the fire's out.

Some time ago I saw a video about a ps2 controller thing which included 30 seconds of testing with a dance game. I then remembered the box of random old wii junk I got from a friend a few years ago and the soft dance pad folded in there. I have never played DDR or the likes but I might as well try. Wtf is this layout??
Apparently it's meant for some wii fit clone that uses a mat instead of balance board. It uses the gamecube controller plug, so I plugged it to my gc and mapped the buttons with metroid prime. They are just randomly scattered (tape marks in pic) so I opened the box rewired it to the least unergonomic layout I could think of.

The choice was between too cramped or buttons being too far apart. I went for the latter because I couldn't reliably rest my legs on the center without triggering input on the cramped option.
After finishing the job I tried ddr on the wii. The mat works. The mat also sucks. It's unplayable.

Ended up finding some E3 pictures while looking up stuff for the Gran Turismo post. The architecture sure gives the impression that a PS2 will take you into another world.

Did you know this was a thing? If you happen to have three TVs, consoles, and copies of Gran Turismo 3 or 4 lying around, you can hook them together to a wide cockpit view. Reasonable to a sim racer, but to me it would've been the most ballin PS2 setup ever.
GT3 uses i.LINK (FireWire) to connect the consoles, while GT4 uses the network adapter. Supposedly GT4 supports up to 6 screens!
I don't have three, let alone six of any of those things, but dang I wish I did.

Almost immediately after making the previous post, I came up with a much better way fix the board sliding back, with the exact same zip tie.
Even the translucent card looks good now!
I have a couple well worn memory cards. It seems that they like to break in a way that makes the pcb retract into the shell. I looked at what I could stuff in the back to stop this and found that zip ties do the job.
The extra glue is there to slow down a crack that could break a piece off. The result isn't great, but it's also not too bad.
Here's a picture of a good card — see how the board is held in place by two tiny plastic posts. Great design.

I hope for anyone who buys it that it does work at least by launch. Finding this out when trying it would suck.
