Then blame religion, or its leaders, not the poor fools who didn’t know any better.

That’s very different. Bullets are made for killing, it’s their sole purpose.

There are tons of good religious people. Look throughout history and everyone was religious to a certain extent, so are most old people today (depending on where you live ofc, but in rural Quebec I don’t know anyone above 65 that’s not religious). Are you saying all these people are evil, instead of, say, the Pope who called the crusades?

Lemmy users are so one-dimensional.

Those “out of control” people are using religion because it’s a powerful tool. They are not “cultists”, odds are they don’t even believe in it. Blame the killer, not the knife.

What makes that third character da instead or ta? Or rather, how can you tell?

Impossible. It is simply the best herb. As a bonus, you can treat it like shit and the plant will never die. It can even survive through winter.

Indeed we’ve plugged in a bitcoin miner to our central heating and now heating is “free”. I’m not sure how profitable it is when you’re not using the heat though.

I also played voices38’s RE9, was great until raccoon city, then performance became unplayable, even on low settings. Quite a shame, I don’t think I can finish it.

Is it being a pedofile to write some comments on reddit? There are actual pedofiles out and about and we’re worried about the comments of someone who probably didn’t do anything wrong. Is it suddenly wrong to have opinions? These screenshots show possible reactions to possible scenarios. He did not come out there insulting anyone.

Is annas better than z-lib?

It’s a very common thing among hunters, I don’t think you have to be “special” to like it.

Ahhh it’s the store, yeah if I used it I agree I think I’d be mad.

Makes sense for them though, it’s extra work to support old formats and old quirks each device might have. There’s got to be an alternative, but I’m not sure what it would be.

This could be interesting indeed, though in my case as I only really download epubs that are autoconverted to azw3 with my custom parameters and are loaded via the same usb I use to charge it anyway, I’m not sure I’d have much to gain here.

What do you mean stop supporting? Do they just stop providing updates? Do updates really matter on an ereader?

I recently saw the new 550 drivers fixing a lot of wayland issues as well as KDE 6 being a lot better on wayland and decided, you know what, let me try it.

The first question was, which WM do I use? Initially I wanted to try DWL or Sway, since I currently use DWM on Xorg and like it quite much. However, I was somehow taken in by the Hyprland hype and man their website is flashy. So, okay I'll try that.

From there, I didn't last an hour. First of all, hyprland was using 20% of a cpu core and 200Mb permanently, on idle, without blur, shadows or animations enabled. This is absolutely insane, especially since, without these things, it was functionally the same as my DWM setup, which barely uses 0.5% and 9mb of RAM. Now I understand that Xorg included more things and the compositor devs or wlroots have to write more code on their own, but 20% is way too insane for me to even consider the switch. Now I honestly believe that this is an NVIDIA thing, as googling around people seemed to say it was pretty lightweight with some features disabled.

The second issue I noticed was ultimately the deal breaker. I could have tried Sway or DWL next and maybe one of those would have been fine. However, it seems like NVIDIA does not support hardware cursor on wayland. It's listed as an issue under wlroots, hyprland and sway. Now I will admit I do play video games sometimes and using some floaty unresponsive software cursor is out of the question when I've already experienced the bliss that is a hardware cursor. I don't know when this will be added, but according to a phoronix post, someone added the code to the nvidia driver and it does work on KDE now, so maybe it will be added to wlroots and the likes soon.

That's it, just wanted to talk about it a little since I was somewhat disappointed. I have wanted to move to wayland for a long time, it seems like I will still have to wait. One thing's for sure, I'm never buying an NVIDIA card again.
