Because it’s fiction. It’s theater in order to gain clout. Just like what Bondi does. Just like what Fox News does. It’s just attention farming.

I originally thought it said “Banksy seed pods” and was like “damn, where can’t that dude create art?”

I hope this doesn’t come across the wrong way, but… does Lemmy want to become Reddit?

A few years ago when I first tried Lemmy, I had a lot of the same criticisms. I had no idea what instance to choose and was agonizing over it, until I saw a comment that said “it doesn’t fucking matter what instance you start with. Just pick a big one and get going.”

After a couple months of browsing and getting familiar, I now have multiple accounts on multiple instances and use a couple of them frequently. I don’t need one single identity on a social media platform, and because karma doesn’t matter, I jump ship on my accounts whenever I want.

At this point, I don’t think I want Reddit users to migrate over to Lemmy. A lot of the problems with Reddit come from their users. Lemmy has a far better culture than Reddit.

The user experience of Lemmy could improve, but there’s an assumption that Lemmy should be a kind of “Reddit killer”, but after a few years of using Lemmy, I could care less about that.

Amazing views and amazing little town. Had the best meal in Spain in a little restaurant on the walking path after the tourist busses all left.

Blog post from the guy who created Dink Smallwood on why you shouldn’t feel bad for the Synths in “Detroit: Become Human” or feel bad about Cortana’s demise in Halo.

I hadn’t heard of the Chinese Room thought experiment before, but it is a good reminder of what software really is.

I hate to admit this, but I’ve never seen Buffy before… like, never seen an episode. I’ve seen the movie with Donald Sutherland, and I liked it.

I love Firefly, so I know Joss Whedon is great.

I do not like the Supernatural show from the 2000s.

It is spooky season right now and I would love to give Buffy a try, but I’m worried I won’t like it and all of my hopes and dreams for liking this spooky show will be gone.

Can someone tell me why Buffy is good so I can psych myself up for watching it?

I just had a kid of my own and I’m finding some feelings of resentment towards mom.

Like, there were some times where I didn’t receive the supervision I needed, or where I wasn’t taught certain life skills (because she was so busy with my siblings) and I just can’t imagine letting that happen with my baby.

Did you ever feel this way towards your parents when you had me? If so, how did you deal with it?

Thanks Pop.

I dunno if anyone else is with me, but the NFL Plus preseason coverage is just like the same 4 commercials over and over and over.

I’m losing my freaking mind.

Not sure if it’s okay to post this here (just let me know and I’ll delete) but so thought time be fun to get a league together of just people from the Fediverse.

If interested, come join us!

Was just browsing my favorite communities, commenting on posts I found really interesting, and engaging with other users who wanted to have conversations.

… and not a single paid ad in my feed. I effing love this platform.
