It's not that my taxes are too high. It's that the hyper-rich don't pay enough.

I don't mind taxes! As I've said repeatedly, civilization is expensive and can only be paid for on the installment plan. I'm happy to contribute my bit to keep things running. But when the rich won't pay their fair share…well that just fuckin' pisses me off.

And it's like we sent Jar Jar Binks to negotiate for us.

Sigh. An administration both evil and incompetent. I swear, the U.S. has had such bad luck with its recent government you'd think we'd built the nation on an ancient Indian burial ground or something…

"Good" to see European companies getting on the enshittification gravy train. I'd wondered what happened to Evernote. Now I know who caused me to bail so fast when it went to shit.

Titan, Wizard, and Demon by John Varley. The first book starts off with a bog-standard "first human exploration of Saturn's system" bit, but starts going off the rails immediately. By the end, you'll meet a 50 foot clone of Marilyn Monroe and think, "eh, I'll accept that."

It's one of sci-fi's more delightfully unhinged stories.

Now I'm as partisan a Mac user as you'll find, but considering I see one of my Macs crash once every couple of years or so, I can't really call "3 times as often," a horrifyingly egregious number.

Republican?

The PS5 was my first console since the N64.

While I appreciate that Sony was trying to do interesting design, the choice of shitty plastic for its case defeats that attempt completely. Crappy plastic just isn't the medium to pull that off. I immediately bought a bracket so I could hang it under the rear of my desk so I wouldn't have to see it.

lol. Float it all you want, little Donny Two-Scoops. Mother Nature clearly has other plans for you. That dementia ain't gonna get any better.

Working to avoid the excesses of surveillance capitalism isn't piracy, it's self-defense.

Man, if this guy has access to a Mac, Spotlight's gonna blow his mind.

You reap what you vote. Unfortunately the rest of us are paying for your mistake too.
