Maybe the solution is some Spotify like service for journalism. Ie. Pay $20 a month and get access to most papers, and the revenue is split by view count. Even better would be making it a tax so since everyone is paying there's no need for login.

The full quote was "conservative media commentator" which I think means he comments on conservative media, not that he is a conservative who is a media commentator. I agree it's confusing wording though.

Would've been better if they just called him a gonzo journalist as he's closer to that then a commentator.

LLMs being the most visible part of AI after over 75 years of AI, isn’t because they’re the biggest or latest or greatest or whatever, it’s marketing. Plain and simple marketing.

Probably more that it's the only AI normal people will interact with regularly. Your average person isn't going to run a protein folding application, but they will probably talk to chatgpt or use Google AI summaries.

To be fair he did, he's been noticably more erratic and confrontational then his first term. This isn't to say his first term was a model of stability and good governance, just that he is definitely declining mentally.

This doesn't excuse her support for him earlier, but if she wants to push dementia don out, I'm not gonna get in her way.

The carbon cost of producing the EV is higher though, but yeah long term still better as long as you use it for like 5 years and don't get a new one whenever it comes out like it's an iPhone.

I feel like the white blood cells should be the guards. They're the ones who will kill anything that gets out of line, and they're white....

Same vibe as Stalins

How many divisions does the pope command?

The coffee thing shows either a contrarian attitude or a naive one. Im tempted to say, go do a bump of coke and tell me thats a similar animal. Its not.

I have done coke a couple times, and idk if it was just bad coke or didn't take enough but I felt it was overrated. Didn't mix it with alcohol though which apparently enhances the effects but would say it's on a similar level to a high dose of caffeine. Like a bump of coke I would put on the same level as an energy drink. Maybe a line would make me think differently but I've only ever done bumps/keys.

This isn't to say I think all drugs are the same, I wouldn't put coffee on the same level as molly or alcohol for the high.

Yeah, a pound of weed is probably around the size of a pillow, you'd need a campfire to burn that, not joints

Depends on where the horniness is coming from, if it's from prog(esterone?) like the op said and it's tied to hormonal cycles then you maybe got a day to get over there.

You should know this because one of the reasons Trump's been trying to use to justify this war is that Iran never said they wouldn't pursue nuclear weapons.

You could say the fatwa is just talk but there's a strategic argument for Iran to not get nuclear weapons besides the moral case. Iran doesn't want to get nukes and become a pariah state like North Korea and cut itself off from global trade, they're a Petro state they need trade. At the same time they don't want Israel and the US to be able to bomb them with impunity. So their best strategy is to remain close to building a bomb, that way they can get sanctions relief while being able to dash for a bomb and nuclear deterrence in the case of a war.

It's YouTube music, which is showing popular "podcasts" on its explore page. Must be just because it's popular because nothing in my algo on either youtube or YouTube music would suggest this shit.

A ship believed to be carrying Russian fuels is on its way to Cuba, putting US President Donald Trump’s sanctions to the test amid the island’s deepening energy crisis.

The vessel Sea Horse, expected to arrive in early March, is carrying much-needed fuels to Cuba, according to data from maritime intelligence firm Kpler Ltd.

The Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, who led the U.S. Civil Rights Movement for decades, died Tuesday. The protege of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. and two-time presidential candidate was 84.

As a young organizer in Chicago, Jackson was called to meet with King at the Lorraine Motel in Memphis, Tennessee, shortly before King was killed, and he publicly positioned himself thereafter as King’s successor.

Jackson led a lifetime of crusades in the United States and abroad, advocating for the poor and underrepresented on issues, including voting rights, job opportunities, education and health care. He scored diplomatic victories with world leaders, and through his Rainbow/PUSH Coalition, he channeled cries for Black pride and self-determination into corporate boardrooms, pressuring executives to make America a more open and equitable society.

And when he declared, “I am Somebody,” in a poem he often repeated, he sought to reach people of all colors. “I may be poor, but I am Somebody; I may be young; but I am Somebody; I may be on welfare, but I am Somebody,” Jackson intoned.

It was a message he took literally and personally, having risen from obscurity in the segregated South to become America’s best-known civil rights activist since King.

Across the street from me is a gym with rooftop parking. Most of the time it has been empty but recently a bunch of Tesla's have been parked up there, which I assume are storage for the Tesla dealership down the street. Last night a bunch of them started blinking their yellow lights, sometimes in sync. More interesting / creepy than infuriating for me honestly since I can just close my curtains but it's probably annoying someone.

Kinda creepy though since it seems like they're, or someone controlling them, is plotting something.

Context: on the eve of WWI the SPD in Germany was the most successful and powerful socialist party in the world with a good shot of taking power in a couple years. Like the other socialist parties it was officially opposed to imperialist wars, but when it came down to it, barring a few principled individuals like rosa Luxembourg, the party voted yes on war bonds out of fear of looking unpatriotic, signing the blank check the kaiser issued and sending Germany into WWI which of course worked out great for the working class and Germany as a whole...

This is referring to all the people who say I own this gun to protect against a tyrannical government. While I agree fighting a tyrannical government is noble Most of those people aren't serious about it and are just LARPing. If you are serious about fighting for your freedom then you'd know that fighting alone will get you nowhere. No revolution or civil war has ever been won by scattered armed individuals with no organization, you need to join a group to be effective.

But all the militias are full of right wing psychos

Yeah, but you won't be able to change their mind from the outside. Join one and try to educate them on true freedom from the billionaire capitalist class. Worst case scenario even if they don't respond you'll still be training and learning how to work in a group, and you can be a spy and learn their tactics and how to defeat them in the case of a civil war.

I'll just buy the gun now and join a group once shit starts going down

That's the wrong order, get organized and then buy weapons. Left wing organizations will be banned and forced underground long before guns are. There's a very high probability trump will ban armed left wing groups in the next couple years, him restricting gun purchases is far less likely. It's best to get in an organization and build trust before it goes underground because after they are banned they are rightfully more picky on who they let in for fear of informants.
