There are a lot talking about German land in various countries, sounds like some Nazi shit to me but I admittedly don't know enough about the topic.

This one has to be satire right?

John Stephen 1 day ago It's difficult not to feel great sympathy for these gentlemen.

Here was a group of people - educated, elevated, and better bred than their fellow countrymen confined to a middle class lifestyle despite their superior social status.

I hope that these people can be put back to the position that clearly they are pre-ordained to be in.

Long live the aristocracy and our social superiors!

An interesting article thank you. A loss as they have endured continues to impact families for generations.

We knew a family who were dispossessed of their property as described. With no compensation they went to Rhodesia and saved enough to buy a farm, grow crops again and made a comfortable life for themselves and their children too. There, as Zimbabwe, they were dispossessed of their land again.

Dispossessing farmers, with no concern for the economic damage, loss of jobs, or vital food security, is a medieval practice.

The data I have seen points to new US military recruits, at least in recent years, being predominantly "middle class" basically to say they aren't people living in poverty, but are not coming from notable generational wealth either.

It is hard to get exact data, but I have seen multiple sources suggest that the $50k - 100k household income bracket is the biggest for military enlistment. Like this study for example

The people that I knew growing up who have since gone into the military (and I no longer have contact with) did it because someone in their family was in the military, none of them were poor. I think the whole propaganda and perception of the military being a force for good and virtuously defending the country plays a much bigger role than the money aspect, even though that perception, as we know, is extremely inaccurate.

I have read this response from Boots, but I don-t find it very convincing personally. Per his point on Megan-s relation to her father, Larry Ellison stepped in to directly manage the company in 2018 due to financial trouble, and also provided the financial backing to get it off the ground in the first place. Sure she isn't her father, but she will take his money and help with running her business.

Idk maybe I really am naive and being undisciplined, but something just does not sit right with me with the argument, "I have to make art that goes towards funding zionism in some way because there is no alternative."

Saw a guy I got a socialist/anti-fascist tattoo from posting online in support of Graham Platner.

I just can't believe how after such a long and documented history of US subterfuge of the left, people will just fall for this guy so easily

Unfortunately, this movie was produced by Annapurna pictures, a company owned by Megan Ellison, daughter of sixth richest man in the world, David Ellison. The Ellison family is one of the foremost supporters of the Zionist project and have contributed directly to the oppression and genocide of Palestinians.

No matter how leftist and Marxist the movie is, nothing can justify collaborating with such people in any capacity.

What is virtuous about colonization? Palestinian Jews, Muslims and christians lived together before the Zionist entity and can again under a single state, without Jewish supremacy.

Hypothetically, if right wing bourgeois, like let's say the PayPal mafia, were to run supposedly progressive candidates to infiltrate and wreck the American left, wouldn't it be the guy who went overseas for American imperialism several times, has a Nazi tattoo, and proudly worked for Blackwater??

Based on Platner's past Reddit posts, he seems EXACTLY like a guy who would think going undercover as a leftist for nefarious purposes is really cool.

If American progressives can fall for this guy, they would fall for anything.

Hundreds of think tanks developing new indexes to rank settler colonies + Europe above the rest of the world

It almost seems like cooperation is not only a viable form of economic progress but a superior one to the capitalist competition of the west...

Does anything expose the white supremacist "social democracies" of Europe better than this?

Every time I talk to a liberal about socialism, they always pull out the Scandinavia card, but those countries can't even bring themselves to see Africans as real people.

It's a bit surprising to me that these shows keep inviting him given how well he defends Iran. They try so hard to catch him but never succeed

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif says it is now “open war” between Pakistan and Afghanistan’s Taliban government as explosions are reported in Kabul and fighting continues along the border.

I've been attending a chess club in my city for over half a year now. The guy who runs it has done fundraising events before including some for Palestine-related charities which I was very happy to support.

I knew he had done fundraising for Ukraine before, and assumed it was for civilians impacted by the war, though I did not attend myself.

Now, they are running an event fundraising for an organization that explicitly provides equipment and weapons for the Ukraine military. In promoting this event, the organizer said the money is for vehicles, but on the organizations website they literally have fundraisers specifically for weapons and describe their intent to kill people, including drones.

I'm so sickened and disturbed by this. I don't understand how people can be so happy to support this war and contribute to the killing and death, as if they have the pure moral high ground because they support Ukraine.

I'm too young to remember it, but it reminds me a bit of what I've read on America's support of the Mujahideen in Afghanistan–painting them as resistance fighters, proudly showering them in equipment and weaponry.

I've had multiple discussions with people, typical western liberals, where they heavily relied on Chat GPT for their arguments and information.

I was explaining my perspective on Iran to someone who said they support a regime change operation there by the US. I told them about how the protests started peacefully, until a sudden coordinated mob created destruction and violence, and how the riots ended after the starlink tech was shut down by the Iranian government.

They told me my argument doesn't hold water because they GPT'd it and it said everything I said was wrong. Is it just a lost cause to try and explain further at that point, or is there a way to break people away from LLM-ism?

The concept of a multi-speed EU has been around for decades, originally being born as a solution to prospect of EU expansion eastward after the Cold War period. This new proposal from Germany's Finance Minister includes Germany, France, Poland, Spain, Italy and the Netherlands.

With the growing rifts in the EU, a dismal proxy war against the EU's chosen mortal enemy, and the US's open aggression towards European vassals, circumstances are different now from the 90's.

While this is primarily pitched as a move for financial stability and growth, there is of course a defense aspect as well, with Germany's Finance Minister saying, defence should be embedded as a priority in the next EU multiannual budget.

This could be a move for the dominant EU powers to marginalize less powerful countries, and continue forcing Europe on the war march even as the situation in Ukraine looks worse and worse.
