Ran by an egotistical anticommunist

Absolutely incredible display from one of the pettiest crybullies on the fediverse. I do agree, though, paying attention to what PJ says is a waste of time and mental health, given how frequently PJ is absurdly wrong and flies into a rage when disproven.

I don't know about cutest, but I like the pic! That's why it's my profile pic!

Do they not? They are navigating a frail position where the US Empire can come in again at any moment. If they pretended nothing happened whatsoever then the US Empire would still be exerting the same brutal pressure they were exerting at the peak.

We live in a collectivized society already, competition in capitalism already gave way to monopoly and deep interconnection. The problem is that the profits are still individualist, rather than serving the collective.

What makes you think Venezuela has the same capacity to respond militarily as Iran, right next to the empire itself? What makes you think Iran would not have preferred a diplomatic solution that would avoid having hundreds of schoolgirls murdered in an instant? Sometimes, tactical retreats are the only way to gain strategic victories. The government of Venezuela is intact, and while their hands are now more tied, they continue to exist and the legacy of the Bolivarian revolution remains. Any revolt at this moment would greatly risk having the US-backed opposition taking power, not the proletariat.

I honestly see it as a drain in mental health to be spending a lot of time on that kind of stuff, much better to engage in positive work and hobbies.

Oh, that's no fun! Sorry to hear that.

Hey everyone, welcome back to the general thread! I hope everyone has a great week and keeps pressing forward. May your steady efforts build up to positive development in your lives!

As always, communism will win.

As the title says! I have uploaded a new study guide targeting ~20 hours of reading time. I understand that it cannot be comprehensive with such a limit, but at the same time I wish to include a diverse range of voices, convey the core fundamentals of Marxism-Leninism clearly, and to avoid common pitfalls.

Any feedback is appreciated, as long as it doesn't add bloat.

Just wanted to celebrate a bit. I had a lot of help from @ReadFanon@hexbear.net and @Edie@lemmy.ml when making it, and seeing it slowly but steadily get more upvotes as more people saw it felt pretty satisfying. It's hosted over here, on Lemmy.ml. It's very much influenced by my own tastes, such as featuring Red Sails prominently.

Future plans include a dedicated section on historical materialism, one on culture, art, and propaganda, and fleshing out the audiobooks and trimming back redundant or low-value add entries (such as Ian Wright's essay, which is valuable but not in the scope of a beginner list).

Thanks for any of you that gave feedback, such as @PolandIsAStateOfMind@lemmygrad.ml, @yogthos@lemmygrad.ml and @thelastaxolotl@hexbear.net!

I love science and keeping up with new discoveries, especially in the realm of space. It keeps me positive and happy, and I think this thirst for discovery and advancement is common to Marxists. It's why science fiction, space exploration, and more have all been historically beloved in socialist states.

What do y'all enjoy?

Like the title! Does anyone use any of these? Considering branching out, right now I only use Lemmy (I have accounts on Lemmy.ml, Lemmygrad.ml, and Hexbear.net that I swap between depending on mood). Lately I have been considering branching out. What are y'alls experiences? Any recommendations for instances?
