I genuinely cannot overstate how poor the education system is. There is no attempt at forming critical thinking skills, if you look at federal and state guidelines theyre primarily testing memory and an absurdly oversimplified cause and effect understanding of history and in literature. We have repeatedly failed every generation with the education we provide, and with the material conditions getting worse we are only seeing worse teaching practices as the resources and training are inadequate.

Americans typically work between two to four jobs, an American's brain is turned off by the time they can lay their body back. Plus the hyper individualism contributes to an inability to imagine a scenario where things change w collective action as everyone is tunnel-visioned on their own precarious situation. Those who resist are thrown into the prison system which disenfranchises them for life.

And if you combine all that with the literacy rates, the scale of alienation, the quality of our education, and propaganda that instills a fantastically-undeserved arrogance into every citizen then you got the perfect cocktail of a self-absorbed narcissistic population with no time or desire to form a coherent worldview.

Interesting idea, all things considered it would minimize the damage of him proclaiming himself a communist to such a wide audience all the while spreading uncritical liberal ideology. Still though, all attempts should be made to prevent this from happening as an attack on any working class is an attack on us all. Plus if he survives we may have to consider his fame and the parasocial aspects of alienated american society contributing to him becoming viewed as a Mandela-figure setting us back another 40 years.

On a serious note his ultracomm ideology, nihilism, and the fact that I don't think I've ever heard him speak positively about another leftist made me doubletake what I was reading.

Is this how communists during FDR felt expecting the collapse of capitalism just to get finessed for another 80 years thanks to the New Deal?

Kavernacle. Seems to be a UK youtuber, recently did a stream with Noah Samsen discussing why american leftists excuse veterans for their role in imperialism.

We are all in financial desperation, still doesn't give me the right to engage in imperialism.

If current trends persist it will be much worse than just that.

That may be quite fun.

Hello! I was wondering if any of you know of any good videos on the guild system, its role in the period's mode of production, and its role in relation to the transition to capitalism? Personally this wasn't something I had put much thought into myself before reading Capital and I haven't found many good videos on the topic. For context this is for HS freshmen who have displayed persistent interest in talking about economics during different periods of time in world history.

Edit: Now I am beginning to question if I was reading this in capital or one of Marx's other works. Hmmmmmmm🧅

Considering it is a popular talking point, what context is necessary to understand it?

If you were to choose any one movie or documentary to radicalize OR inform people on the Palestinian genocide and Gaza Holocaust who have little knowledge on it and the larger context, what would you pick?

Hypothetically, if you were a teacher with a great deal of freedom, do you have any playlists or videos that you highly recommend to show High Schoolers to combat the propaganda and give them a fair view of communism?

I know little to nothing about the sect yet there seems to be an increase in interest since apparently Tucker Carlson was talking about them, what are their views and what is their relationship to zionism?

Trying to figure out which org to join. Thoughts on the party for socialism and liberation?

From Peng Dehuai's Autobiography he mentions on the 19th of October 1950 during the first campaign of the Korean War he reached the power station at "Raekosao," does anyone know what city he is referring to? Im unable to find anything by the name "Raeksoao" so if anyone has a better understanding of korean geography or language do you happen to know where this (city?) is or what a more accurate pinyin romanization would be to find out more about this location?
