In a way, erotic art is what touches humans the deepest (hehe), just raw biological neuron activation. That‘s another reason why kids under 16 should be banned from any internet platform: It ruins both the magical childhood that children are supposed to have, and if you accommodate for them being online, it just ruins the internet for any adult wanting to share their art or discussing NSFW (stupid abbrev. btw) topics.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk!

I agree, but time and time again, it has been proven that banning people from somewhere on the internet is not the right way of doing things. It makes them want to get in even more. Especially with teenagers who are going through a rebellious phase while building their identity. It should be on the parents to educate their children better and set parental controls (if needed) at home.

That‘s correct. Government overreach is the completely wrong approach, adult users should not have to prove they are not a minor. Parents who get their child under 16 a smartphone etc. or allow them to create accounts or buy things themselves should be fined about 1000 $,€,£ or whatever. Which optimally go directly to social services for children like education, sport parks, analog game festivals. If you put 5 year olds in front of an iPad, what the fuck do you expect them to become other than socially inept, right wing extremist morons?

Prohibition never has the purported effect.

Not true! Sometimes in game design it works as intended.

under 16

Kids under 16 being banned because "sex bad" is dumb. A kid who is seeking out porn is mature enough to handle it. Part if "the magic of childhood" used to be finding your uncle's stash of nudie mags.

Gonna be real with you chief -

Somebody should have probably stopped me from going to LoversLab as a teenager and seeing beastiality and necrophilia.

There’s a middle ground. While the government probably isn’t in the position to figure it out, the abundance of extreme porn that is completely accessible to kids is not good either.

Ok, but, consider, did that mess you up, or did everything else around you mess you up more?

[–] EldenLord@lemmy.world 2 points 9 months ago

That‘s different from stumbling upon hardcore BDSM porn and being groomed and radicalized by failed discord mindset coaches. If the playboy mags from back then had IRA propaganda and neonazi meeting invitations in them, those mags would‘ve been completely banned. You can‘t do that with the internet, so atleast make children not have to deal with this troubled reality before their brain has evolved enough.

Don't be so crass vulgar and demeaning.

Squishy tits and hard abs and throbbing cocks and flapping labia inspire.

You're right, I shouldn't have brought commerce into this discussion of art. [Tone indicator:Genuine]

NSFW art often gets disproportionate attention (likes and reblogs pouring out of the pot) compared with SFW art.

[–] tdawg@lemmy.world 5 points 9 months ago

One requires impulse control. The other uh, doesn't

I get the point of the comic but the third panel makes no sense
