πŸ€” If...I may... in which sense?

[–] wildbus8979@sh.itjust.works 7 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

Mostly financially. Related to hiusing. I don't really wanna get into more details, but I'm essential stuck with my current living situation for the rest of my life, unless I'm willing to lose tens of thousands of dollars (or even more if I try to improve the place I'm currently at instead of cutting my losses and moving at an already big loss). Pressure to secure stable housing for an eventual old age made me make tough decisions that in hindsight were pretty fucking ill-advised.

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 6 points 10 months ago

No worries, no need to go into details at all πŸ‘

I just hope you will find a smooth, not too stressful way to ease everything. I know it is just words from an unknown person, even if for 1 min, it can make you feel better. I will take it.

Resentful.

Probably turning into Bitterness at one point in the future.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 3 points 10 months ago

I'm the cousin of resentful: spiteful

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Mostly cause I think the word is fun to say :3

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I would say my Lithuanian is bad... so I believe you πŸ˜…

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 3 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

That's fair lol :3

The word is also hard for non-native speakers from what I know :3 it's like a mini tongue twister hehe

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

So kind of you πŸ˜‚

I know it is not related to the question but what would it be the worst tongue twister in Lithuanian?

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The one I always fuck up is "Ε‘eΕ‘ios ΕΎΔ…sys su Ε‘eΕ‘iais ΕΎΔ…syčiais"

"Geri vyrai gera gira geroj girioj gΔ—rΔ— ir gerdami gyrΔ— - geriems vyrams gera gira geroj girioj gera gert" is another popular one, but I personally don't struggle as much with it

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

πŸ˜‚ A lot of "Ε‘" and "g" lol.

But at least, there are vowels.

Strč prst skrz krk here you are :) (Slovak) (not my mother tongue, I just know, how to get by, Slovak)

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Yeah I know there are some horrifying ones out there with no vowels hahah.. unfortunately lithuanian morphology doesn't allow for them, so ours are a bit more mundane by comparison

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Unfortunately or fortunately. It is just how a language is. I wonder how the tongue twisters are in German though... 🫣

[–] TabbsTheBat@pawb.social 3 points 10 months ago (1 children)

The only things of german I know are krankenwagen, krankenhaus, kugelschreiber, and "aber ja natΓΌrlich Hans ist nass, er steht unter dem wasserfall" unfortunately, so can't say

[–] Houseofoliviereu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

At least you know more than me πŸ˜‚

Dismay.

That's my baseline experience to some extent just existing here in this reality, and that it's briefly. Always felt like that.

Dandelion

No correlation to the meaning of the word, I just thought "welp, that sounds like me"
