So... next step is going to be to assume George Soro's is paying off half the country to pretend not to like trump. Honestly though I'm just finding it disturbing that it's still over 40%. He's cost so many jobs, deported people who voted for him, crashed the economy.... how the hell is he still 10 points over W Bush?
Because there's a core of about 37-39% of the electorate who will support him no matter what he does because he has become an integral part of their identity. And disagreeing with him will cause them to go through an existential crisis.
