This got removed from politics because "Video links are not allowed" apparently? Pretty weird considering that most politicians say stuff on video nowadays and not really writing articles anymore since the invention of the radio pretty much lol. Hope it's a better fit here, this is the kind of stuff people should be aware of.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet.

Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well.

Remember to vote BLUE no matter WHO! It's IMPORTANT to vote Democrat so we can CHANGE things!

-People voting for El-Sayed's REPUBLICAN Opponent AFTER they voted for Independent Andrew Cuomo in New York!

No joke, I saw a "Democrats for Mike Rogers" sign on someone's lawn yesterday.

The sign might as well have said "I pretend to care a little more than Republicans but I'm still a racist piece of shit"

Democrats for Mike Rodgers pac is funded by republicans it is very likely the people displaying the sign are republicans as well.

Trans rights are non-negotiable. Not supporting genocide is non-negotiable.

If you can't meet these extremely low standards, fuck you.

The number of people suddenly pretending to care about women's sports is incredible. The number of people who don't realise that placing these types of requirements would necessitate a system for checking and verifying that would be.. horrifying, is incredible.

Well, the GOP has no monopoly on idiots, it seems.

This is not an issue of one man being an idiot. This is rot manifesting itself all over.

I don't even get why democrats are releasing anti-trans ads (I mean, I do, and it's because all the political advisors say it's a divisive issue despite having no evidence of that). Like, even if they don't care about trans rights at all, they can just make ads that don't mention it. It can only hurt them for taking a diet republican side on an issue because it can alienate their more left voters. If AIPAC can be smart enough to promote a progressive and split the progressive vote in a primary, why can't democrats be smart enough to realize that anti-trans ads can only hurt them?

It’s because establishment Democrats are just as bought as Republicans, and the oligarchs are currently more interested in establishing fascism than maintaining detente between the two parties.

All of my queer family is not voting for either demagogues. I am done being nice.
If you're a Democrat, you're going on the woodchipper too. Better use than genociding us because you can't hold your party accountable.

How is this still a thing in the Dem party? Instead of joining the bullies, we should be embarrassing the asshole dems who think Trans people are anything other than people trying to exist just like we are. Am old enough to remember when dems joined the same politicized bullshit against gay people in the 80s, and then satanic panic in the 90s. Can we fucking grow up and learn something for once??

Because it was still the view of many of the people who would have called themselves Republicans in say 2010 but realized Trump wasn't good for the country or left the party for other reasons. They didn't just disappear, they joined the only other viable party and helped to shift it further right. Like when Desantis won Florida Governor in 2022, he won against then Democrat candidate Charlie Christ, whom was the Republican governor of Florida from 2007-2011. Christ didn't change all of his views, his views were suddenly just left of MAGA, but still right of where Democrats were in 2006

I was wondering how the Democrats were going to make sure the Republicans keep control of the Senate.
