This is just a taste of foreshadowing for when the government comes in with wads of cash to bail out the more loyal owners of AI datacenters when the bubble pops.

It'll all pivot to running the surveillance nightmare they're already building.

It’ll all pivot to running the surveillance nightmare they’re already building.

it's not a pivot, it's the primary goal -- everything else is just the excuse for building it since they've learned that people are going to be demanding more as the capitalism further erodes into fascism.

This is fine. Voting will fix this.

Are you or anyone else is the world using any American tech? Then it impact you directly.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I'm not sure how deploying intelligence contractors to cities across the US will impact anyone outside the US.

Rough. I just explained it. Are you using any US tech? If so, you are in the surveilance apparatus regardless.

[–] queermunist@lemmy.ml 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

But how does deploying intelligence contractors to cities specifically impact people outside the US? People outside the US are being surveilled, for sure, but I don't think there's any difference before or after deploying a contractor to Portland or whatever.

American tech spying is nothing new, the elections in my country are already been impacted with american social media, wasting money to target usians for a change is still positive to me.

Sorry you can't see the bigger picture.

[–] MaxLemminist@lemmy.ml 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The bigger picture is the world benefiting from that cancerous shithole destroying itself.
