New action camera arrived today too. Once I get some accessories I could use it as a B-cam with the Pocket. Set it up somewhere for b-roll and timelapses whilst doing actual shooting with the Pocket.

I just need actual clients now to justify everything

mmm, so since I take so many photos when I'm hiking and in a rough environment, sand, salt spray, very uneven and rough ground, I see so much that is moving, an action camera might be a good idea ,

it's just pics for me and the seagoons and for me to share here and thereabouts , nothing special

Ooh what action cam did you get? Just realised this is the second time today I've gone "oooh, what" and you know what, I stand by it. Hope your Sealion is awesome!

The DJI Osmo Action Pro 5. Saw there was a bit of a deal on it and decided to just get one. I'm starting to get more photography gear so I'll be set once i can connect it to my tripods.

My dumb short term idea is to use phone clamps since it has a front facing screen

Went for a wander and a shop, started to get tempted by expensive things, so I had a whole conversation with myself and told myself to be financially responsible and head home before the trains get too busy.

Congratulated myself for making a smart choice and made my way towards the station.

Anyway, now I'm at a rooftop bar.

I'm at a point where I won't buy things unless i need them

not even pretty or awesome things , not even if they are a super bargain

exceptions are made for special occasions

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

Nooooo, I'm already nearly home. Farrrrrk. I should have stuck around.

I did think of you today as I walked past one of the set ups and some tech/finance bro says "I just think it's wild that someone is paid for this art but it's just... lights." Like, DUDE.

Cheers babe / bestie / bae / brah / bebe (did I miss one why do they all start with 'b').

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (1 children)

You forgot bitch. Also there's queen. I don't know why they all start with b. I prefer Mother Dearest. Cheers 🍻

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

Cheers, Mother Dearest!

#newcarday Let's just say I'll be whispering all my state secrets into this car so I can get an elevated position after the soft power takeover

[–] SpinMeAround@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Ooh, what kind of car? I want to love mine but all of the new tech just sucks the soul out.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

BYD Sealion 5. It's a very practical purchase. Nothing too exciting. Although I will enjoy the adaptive cruise control and driving to and from work all on battery

I love it when drink day coincides with YL'S pet sitting. A whole weekend of not hearing bro, babes or bestie.

[–] imoldgreeeg@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

🥂Cheers. I am in another (warm) realm and have the day off so drinking day has started! Warm sun drinking is also awesome (and have been randomly adopted by a Vic family also at this table in this realm)

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

Cheers 🍻 and have a great time!

Minor dislike: getting tailgated by someone on the footpath so they don't have to look up from their phone.

[–] MeanElevator@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

Slow down and fart.

[–] CEOofmyhouse56@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

Scratch her head vigorously and watch them overtake you.

[–] StudChud@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago

👀😅 oh shit that's me loooool, though not to look at my phone. Men tend to be better at carving a path through a crowd of pedestrians, as a short lil enby, it's easier to get around when I'm behind a tall guy.

No one sees me down here, so tall men are a blessing for me.

Also, next time, just drop your guts and I'm sure they'll gtfo quicksmart lol

Just had my head hunt interview. It was 2 hours and included doing a cold demo of a product I've never used before.

They gave me a basic business case and access to the software for the first time.

If I succeed they're willing to pay relocation costs to QLD.

Let's see how this plays out.

[–] tombruzzo@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

That's a really interesting way to do an interview. Aside from how long it takes it's probably a good way to do things

I've never had to do that before. I had 20 mins to prepare. Access to business case and then the software.

It was kinda fun. I like that kind of pressure. It's SaaS so it's not like it's some vague powershell thing lol

I've been in Melbourne for 10 years this time around and it's the longest I've stayed anywhere since I was in high school.

Might be time for a change.

[–] lowtheseal@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Where have you lived before that?

I've lived in SA, Tazzie, country Victoria (which was my favourite).

In Melbourne I usually move house every year because I get bored lol

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 3 days ago (1 children)

the five covid years didn't help

I was living alone for all of lock down. Literally broke up with my ex a week beforehand.

At least we didn't have to live together afterwards.
