What is global news?

Something that happened or was uncovered recently anywhere in the world. It doesn't have to have global implications. Just has to be informative in some way.

Post guidelines

Title formatPost title should mirror the news source title. If you don't like the title of article, look for an alternative source instead of editorializing it.
URL formatPost URL should be the original link to the article (even if paywalled) and archived copies left in the body. It allows avoiding duplicate posts when cross-posting.
[Opinion] prefixOpinion (op-ed) articles must use [Opinion] prefix before the title. Opinion articles refer to articles that their publisher doesn't explictly endorse.
Country prefixCountry prefix can be added to the title with a separator (|, :, etc.) if the news is from a local publisher who doesn't clearly mention the country.

I get what you're doing, but let's not give trump an excuse to bomb California... Could have gone with Louisiana or Florida

Even Iran doesn’t want those states.

Iran’s morality police would shit themselves if they walked down any of California’s beaches or anywhere in the blade.

Surely Alabama would have been a better fit?

[–] bluGill@fedia.io 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Alabama wouldn't put up with all those Muslims like California will. \s

That's fine, let's set up a date and let them fight it out

I don't think the former Iranians in the area would be happy about that.

I knew an exchange student in high school who told me the terrain and climate is mostly the same, which tracks since we're at almost the same latitude

[–] humanspiral@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 days ago

So um, what are Iranian federal tax rates? Or territorial tributes required to our liberators, compared to our current captors?

[–] mrmaplebar@fedia.io 3 points 2 days ago

When i was a kid I used to watch movies about the cold war and wonder if how someone could get themselves so worked up about these red commie infiltrators, and if they knew how silly they looked.
