Holy shit it's Captain Ancap!

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I thought you meant Mao and was really concerned with the state of your education system for a second, lol.

[–] Curiousfur@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

No, the guy dressed like a Marvel villain in Ancap colors lmao.

[–] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Yeah, it just took a moment because I had scrolled down and just saw his legs and Mao. There are a lot of things you can say about Mao (especially if you want to propagandize a population against communism), but ancap would be… ahistorical at best, lmao

Save your children.

This graph is about 10 years old. The peso is pretty stable.

Only lost like halve it's value in the recent 3 years.

[–] BlackRoseAmongThorns@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The graph is still approaching zero, it's only stable because it's so close already

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

It is not jumpy. It being close to zero can be fixed on your end by choosing proper y scale.

A sudden change in value is different to a trend.

it went from .0008 to .0006 which is 25% down, its a logarithmic graph, if it keeps losing at a steady rate , you cant just zoom out and say it looks steady because of that

[–] Gladaed@feddit.org 0 points 1 month ago

That's much less loss of value than 10 years ago. I didn't say that.

X axis conveniently cut off.

I think this time scale is on a 10 year timescale? looking at the graphs on XE.

The value of the Argentine peso has fallen less quickly since Milei took office in December 2023, but it still has fallen 50% since then.

It's almost like most crypto currencies

[–] ChaoticNeutralCzech@feddit.org 5 points 1 month ago

They have more money than ever before! Just not worth as much

Surprisingly, still not as devaluated as the Colombian Peso (or Columbian Weight for the Spanish-challenged)
