The FBI was forced to clarify its role investigating Sen. Lindsey Graham's (R-SC) sudden death after its director took to social media and made what critics called a "reckless" boast.

Even as MAGA influencers peddled baseless claims that Graham was killed in a secret Russian plot, Kash Patel informed his followers on X that the FBI was assisting local authorities — and drew immediate criticism for fanning the flames of conspiracy.

"Kash Patel is such an attention w---- and he just can’t help himself," wrote political strategist Mike Nellis.

Kash Patel is a fucking moron. He's like a 5-year-old attention starved child with a box of crayons. He sees himself in such a way that nobody else on the fucking planet sees him, but he just doesn't get it.

he sees through the lens of cocaine.

The man was 71, the only thing assassinating him is a lack of a chair in his shower

[–] arrow74@lemmy.zip 18 points 4 days ago

71 really isn't old and below the average life expectancy.

It's not unheard of for a 71 year old to suddenly die, but it's not normal. Most people at 71 should expect to live to 72.

We were very lucky

Castro made it to the mid 90s, and he didn't have the entire American medical system to fall back oooon- oh wait a minute. I think I've cracked it.

And yet perhaps this time we can use MAGA's stupidity and conspiracy-mongering for good instead of evil. If they latch on to this perhaps Trump will start thinking Russia's naughty or something.

People keep saying that but my grandfather lived to 99 years old and when he was 71 he was still relatively independent healthy and actively involved in the local cricket club. 71 isn't really that old.

What gets you is being old and unhealthy like Trump. I don't really follow US politics well enough to know how healthy this guy was but in photos he doesn't look particularly overweight so it is a little suspicious he suddenly died at 71 but not automatically evidence of an assassination plot, but suspicious enough that I think the police would want to do a cursory investigation.

Here is the tweet if anyone else was out of the loop.

Poor use of a template.

I have yet to see a photo of that guy where he doesn’t look like he’s so scared he’s shitting himself.

his cocaine eyes allows him to see in 2 different directions.

I don't think I'll ever fully understand maga

Don't even try. You'll only end up hurting yourself.

[–] EmilieEasie@fedinsfw.app 7 points 4 days ago

she hurt herself in confusion!

I learned about this recent study in some thread that got deleted for some reason, and I was so happy I saw it before it disappeared.

Long read, but totally worth it. I have a lot of conservative family, and they can be genuinely the best people at times. But then that last piece of them just breaks my reality, like how are these 2 sides of you in the same person?

I intended to just skim it since it is so long, but I got sucked in, and when it got to demon possession... 🤯

[–] snooggums@piefed.world 8 points 4 days ago

like how are these 2 sides of you in the same person?

They see their in group (family, friends, and other maga shits) as humans and those outside as subhuman.

Hahaha, why would russia assassinate Lindsey Graham? He's one of their best-trained pets...

Edit: was

No shit, that's what happens when you hire a podcaster to run a bureau that regularly handles classified information...

We can only pray and hope for the worst

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 5 points 5 days ago (1 children)

In normal times, when a Senator dies, yeah, I'd expect the FBI to assist.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 2 points 4 days ago (1 children)

If there is an investigation being done by the local police - which there should be in any death - and when the deceased is a member of the federal government, I can see where the FBI would assist.

In normal times.

[–] essell@lemmy.world 4 points 4 days ago (2 children)

The police investigate every death?

Wow. That's... Unexpected

[–] Drusas@fedia.io 1 points 2 days ago

They absolutely do not.

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 4 points 4 days ago (1 children)

Seriously, I would never work in a hospital if that were the case. Everyone would be getting questioned every single day.

[–] essell@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

We have coroners for this. They'll involve the police if needed.

If American TV is to be believed, that's what happens over there too

[–] wonderingwanderer@sopuli.xyz 1 points 4 days ago

Yeah, I think if it happens in a hospital they just send it to the mortician because the doctors can declare death. Coroners are more for unusual circumstances like someone dies in public or whatever. Maybe homes too.

I could be wrong though, I've never died (that I can remember, at least...)

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 3 points 4 days ago (1 children)

maybe you shouldnt let kash snort too much cocaine and getting wasted on alcohol all the time.

He looks more like he huffed permanent markers

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 3 points 4 days ago

I think the IRGC tried to take credit recently
