This is pretty shitty porn

[–] LordMayor@piefed.social 5 points 1 month ago

I really wish this community was more about good photography of good food. There’s some actual food crimes that get through. 🙁

[–] ikidd@lemmy.dbzer0.com 25 points 1 month ago

This is food BDSM.

[–] treadful@lemmy.zip 23 points 1 month ago

I'm sorry you're going through this.

[–] Mr_Wobble@thelemmy.club 18 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I mean, yeah, technically you could eat that.

[–] JohnnyEnzyme@piefed.social 10 points 1 month ago

It's an exotic feast at House Flanders!

[–] starlinguk@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I'd add some tzaziki.

Girl trust me throw some cottage cheese and everything bagel seasoning on them rice cakes and you are 65% less sad.

[–] MadamLarp@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

then it wouldn’t be low kcal would it?

[–] jet@hackertalks.com 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Why are you doing low kcal? What is your goal?

If your trying to lose weight you would be much better off, and happier, doing low carb and still eating.

[–] MadamLarp@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 month ago (1 children)

technically. I am eating, just doing omad

[–] jet@hackertalks.com 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If that's your omad meal, you're setting yourself up for failure. That doesn't have enough fat or protein to satisfy your body, and your metabolism is going to down regulate in response.

well, I’ll have to do extra pilates, oh nooo, so bad /s

But your not eating any protein, so where will the protein come from to repair your body after pilates?

OMAD is a great tool for weight management (which it sounds like your trying to do), but if your under eating essential building blocks for your body during your eating window your basically just replicating the Minnesota starvation experiment..... which isn't great.

ok, random wl ‘expert’ from lemmy

[–] xep@discuss.online 4 points 1 month ago

Would it help if a doctor said the same thing? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lhyl1hQpmNU

If this is food porn, it's very niche

[–] funkajunk@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago (3 children)

This is 100 calories, tops

[–] Agent641@lemmy.world 7 points 1 month ago

It's actually 0 calories because I would be too sad to even eat it.

[–] a_person@piefed.social 4 points 1 month ago

2 plain rice cakes are 70 calories (35 each), and from what I gather online, 1 cucumber is 45 calories so max its 115 but probably less bc I dont think thats a whole cucumber.

[–] MadamLarp@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

I fear thats the point

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 6 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I like the plating! Honestly I like contrast of crunchy carbs and cool fresh cucumber. I would be interested in elevating this plate on the cheap.

Maybe a little sauce (suggestions?) on the puffed rice cakes. Tahini or a hearty hummus for dipping with the cucumber.

[–] terranoid@lemmy.cafe 9 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Tahini? Are you trying to destroy this man with flavor?

[–] BigDiction@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Been thinking on this a bit. Slather that rice cake with butter knife full of Romesco sauce and have the Tahini and cucumber as a side or put on top for an open faced sandwich?

[–] MadamLarp@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

this is supposed to be wl meat btw

[–] ccunning@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Reminds me of Nachos Flanders Style…

I opened the comments to search for a donation link.

/S it doesn't look that bad but it maybe some spices or a dip would be good.

Deconstructed Kappa Maki

[–] Jessicat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Is this compliments of the 90s? Also I would suggest changing up your colors. Green and white in all your meals is meh.

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

This pairing is inviting. Im gonna try it tomorrow.

[–] Jessicat@lemmy.world 5 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Really? All 150 calories are inviting?

[–] HoneyMustardGas@lemmy.world 1 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Yes. And I tried it. It was a bit bland to me.

[–] Jessicat@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I find the textures appealing since I love both the ingredients but yeah I could see adding some spices at the very least.
