Just like Trump in the US, Pauline Hanson is normalising the targeting of anyine who isn't from a European background.

Because hate and feelings of superiority are like catnip for humans.

[–] booscience@beehaw.org 0 points 2 weeks ago

And hate groups know there’s a loneliness epidemic and that humans have a lizard brain problem where our brains literally panic and sense impending doom if we feel like the human groups have ostracized us, kicked us out into the Savanah to survive on our own, so they utilize that to recruit with propaganda and in grievances that speak to the lonely and then welcome them with hateful ingroup “jokes” and repetitive beliefs that lead to radicalization.

Pauline Hanson looks the best she's ever looked with her ugly racist mug covered.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 0 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

and yet she leads the most popular party in Australia according to recent polls, her hate and stupidity resonate.

I had a friend say to me "she just makes sense"... and yet there is no part of me that thinks anything she speaks of makes sense

I had a friend say to me "she just makes sense"...

I guess because, like most populists, she uses very simple messaging to dumb down complex issues so that anyone can understand them.

[–] prex@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

So fucking embarrassing.

It hits me right in the smug. We were the last sane democracy for a while there. Still plenty of time for an implosion before the next election though.

We knew the answer to this 50 years ago:

If you can convince the lowest white man he's better than the best colored man, he won't notice you're picking his pocket. Hell, give him somebody to look down on, and he'll empty his pockets for you. - LBJ

And another thing - the crotch, down where your nuts hang - is always a little too tight, so when you make them up, give me an inch that I can let out there, uh because they cut me, it's just like riding a wire fence. These are almost, these are the best I've had anywhere in the United States [...] But, uh when I gain a little weight they cut me under there. So, leave me , you never do have much of margin there. See if you can't leave me an inch from where the zipper (burps) ends, round, under my, back to my bunghole, so I can let it out there if I need to.

Low Balls Johnson

[–] thatKamGuy@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago

@Mouselemming@sh.itjust.works

Do his balls hang low?
Do they wobble to and fro?
Can he tie them in a knot?
Can he tie them in a bow?
Can he throw them over his shoulder,
like a continental soldier?
Do his balls hang low?

[–] Spooge@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

Why the fuck you gotta mention Trump and the US? Even that shit doesn't fly here.

[–] vividspecter@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

One Nation are currently leading the polls. Either the majority of Australians are incredibly low information voters, or they either don't care about racism or actively support it.

Time will tell as to which it is.

[–] hanrahan@slrpnk.net 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

bullshit, Gjna is regularly at Mar -a-Largo and is a huge supporter of Trump., shed a massive ONP donor. They're different sides of the coin, denying reality doesn't change reality.

We have been at this shit for as long as the US, John Howard won over people going apeshit over Tampa and thier hate of refugees. We literally built internment camps and no one gave a shit, at least some protest in the US.

[–] Spooge@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

Ted Danson is repeatedly forced to apologize for a blackface skit in 1993 over here, but this would be ok? Nah. Keep on living in online-land and being a contrarian. You're good at it.

[–] SaneMartigan@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

It's racists doing racist things. The young girl might just be playing the system to land a bullshit job as a professional hater for Pauline or Trump. She's generated enough buzz over it to get noticed.

[–] SamuraiBeandog@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

Is giving this oxygen here really helping? Does anyone here not already know what these people are?

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

A healthy, broadly educated population, which feels safe and secure, are incompatible with, and toxic to, conservative and authoritarian ideologies.

They need you to be sick, stupid, and scared.

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

you underestimate the power of mean, lots of intelligent well educated people are just mean

and they lie

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 0 points 2 weeks ago

I’m genuinely curious how, precisely, this is a perspective that negates my post?

Calling for the broad education of a population is a path to inoculating it against a narrow and fragile subset so scared of their shadow they need everyone to be dragged down to their level.

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Bigotry is a way to punch down when really you’re at the bottom of the pile.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 0 points 2 weeks ago

Oh so that's what they mean by "hitting the pavement."

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 0 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

I don't even understand this. Who are they making fun of?

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Islamic people and Aboriginal people/Native Americans? 🤷‍♂️

[–] FreedomAdvocate@lemmy.net.au 0 points 2 weeks ago (1 children)

Almost everyone in here missed the point in their hurry to pretend to be outraged and superior, which isn’t surprising.

The joke is on identity politics and the adherence to stereotypes that its supporters have and justify.

There’s also the fact that it’s just jokes, no need to have a meltdown.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yeah, racism.

That’s what this kind of joke is, because it’s widely viewed by the public along with similar shit from the same people.

The only ones oUTraGeD are those who can’t handle their racism being called, criminally charged or attracting consequence.

[–] FreedomAdvocate@lemmy.net.au 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

No, it’s not racism lol. It’s like you didn’t read a single word I wrote.

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 0 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Usually everything you write is confected garbage but it was read and understood.

It’s racism. There’s nothing we miss here, she’s a racist and her comedy is not funny.

[–] FreedomAdvocate@lemmy.net.au 0 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (1 children)

Ok so again, you either didn't read my comment or don't have the capacity to understand it.

It wasn't a racist joke. Even if it was, it's just a joke. It can't hurt you.

The joke was aimed at IDENTITY POLITICS. It was about SELF ID. It was about how people are self ID-ing into things that they clearly aren't, and then just act out the stereotypes of the thing they're self-identifying as and think it actually makes them that thing. These stereotypes are often racist, sexist, etc, but the left overlook and embrace them because of their ideology.

Do you understand yet?

[–] stylusmobilus@aussie.zone 0 points 1 week ago

Yeah the whole decent part of the nation understands mate. You’re not soecial or even intelligent, you’re just another racist.

You’re right, it doesn’t hurt me, I’m not indigenous. It hurts her, though. We can see that. Well, most of us can.

It’s racism and that's why it's being treated as such. That shit you’re making up is hilarious to be honest.

bUt tH3 LefT

There’s the programming, straight from the US. And you got the hide to ask me if I understand lmao

[–] ryannathans@aussie.zone 0 points 2 weeks ago

What is the picture on the right from?

[–] digital_man@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

Unchecked Privledge, dude.

[–] AceFuzzLord@lemmy.zip 0 points 2 weeks ago

I'd presume it's born out of being born mentally deficient and without a personality or spine. That's one of my beliefs on why bigots are the way they are.

[–] FireWire400@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Those people want free publicity by stiring up as much controversy as possible; especially Pauline with her brain dead arguments and stunts. People like that will continue to exist as long as their shtick continues to work.

It's probably a lot more complex than that, but it's best to just stop listening to them.

[–] auzy1@lemmy.world 0 points 2 weeks ago

These people are pretty much massive losers. They need people to pick on so they feel like less of a loser. Picking on a majority probably not the best idea..

[–] Mucki@feddit.org 0 points 2 weeks ago

They are not unfunny. They are desperate losers in life. It's as simple as that.
