Honestly it seems suspicious how people like Gary are able to communicate with normal humans. Like how can he write in complete sentences? Is he being helped by a trained monkey or something?

They always sound the same with similar structure and never-ending negativity. It's like them and Trump are just an AI construct.

Same deal with social media comment sections, people literally just repeat the same things over and over, which is even worse than bot comments that usually change something. Not so much here and the only other social media I use is youtube and those comment sections are fucking hazardous for mental health and hope for humanity. Every damn video is spammed with "baby wake up X released a new video", "Legendary refresh pull", "why did youtube hide this from me for 36 seconds!?", "X remembered their password" etc. And most other comments are so fucking dumb and badly written that it seems like it's millions of 5 year olds with learning disabilities. And I watch mostly smaller channels and no channels that are for kids mainly, so I don't even dare imagine how those comment sections look.

He knows it's bullshit, but he thinks parroting the bullshit is a 'win' for his side, and therefore himself.

I think he’s either a) a bot or b) someone being paid to write in an aggressive and overconfident style to sway public opinion

The unfortunate thing is that it does work. Maybe not on you or me, but I see relatives that are real humans starting to spew this crap as though it was accepted fact.

being paid to write

Some people are stupid enough to do that work for free

[–] aaa999@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

there's a certain type of absolutely worthless asshole who is just like this for some reason. he's indistinguishable from a bot or a paid disinfo agent so you treat him in ways that apply to all three simultaneously (negatively)

[–] lauha@lemmy.world 10 points 3 weeks ago

Probably a copy-pasta argument. Not his own

I loved her podcast with John Green, it's called called The Universe. In retrospective, mixing an astrophysicist and an author with a sensitive side was a winning move. She kept explaining laws of physics and he kept seeing beautiful metaphors for life.

So basically like listening to John and his brother discuss things yet somehow nerdier?

[–] ellohir@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Katie is much more calm than Hank, the energy of the podcast is much more relaxed than anything Hank does lol

[–] DokPsy@lemmy.world 3 points 3 weeks ago

I mean John and Hank can't help but rib each other in the process and feed off each others energy but I get your meaning

I’m about half way now, and I just wanted you to know this is possibly my new favorite podcast series. One for the ages.

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 25 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That guy is probably a bot.

[–] Balex@lemmy.world 12 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (1 children)

He's definitely a bot. Could be artificial or organic though.

[–] daannii@lemmy.world 2 points 3 weeks ago

I think when it's a human it's called "sock puppet".

[–] Cellari@lemmy.world 23 points 3 weeks ago

A valiant response. Too bad it might have been wasted on the recipient, but at least I got a chuckle. :)

[–] huppakee@lemmy.world 14 points 3 weeks ago
