The Coalition's plan also includes a dedicated multi-agency taskforce to identify and deport visa overstayers

Well, that doesn't sound at all like the Libs want an Australian version of ICE gestapoing their way through the streets to send anyone they don't like the look of to offshore gulags.

If you think it can't happen here, remember ... Americans probably thought the same thing.

You know the Libs are totalitarian elitists. And you know PHON are halfwitted bigots.

Don't let that shit get a toehold here, or we'll become Trump's America before you know it.

Didn't Dutton have Border Force harassing people on the streets of Melbourne in 2014?

He did. Locals organised a snap mass protest, and he walked it back very quickly.

I suppose Dutton with nuclear didn’t completely take them out. Let’s hope this does.

Ah the Howard era immigration policy.

Make a media spectacle about asylum seekers. Meanwhile Howard cranked immigration to record levels for the time in an effort to lower wages, union power and increase real estate value.

The liberal party donors will not accept lower immigration. Graphs must go up.

Question is, how short is the electorate's memory on this.

Its not a matter of memory. Their voters don't even know the immigration policies of the last quarter century. It makes trying to talk to this voting segment so hard, because they're making their minds up based off half the known facts.

But they don't know, they don't know, and its so exhausting having to establish the same set of facts before you can even have a worthwhile discussion on something like immigration policy.

Then theres those disingenuous people, (or they're that propagandised? I don't know), that don't recall the facts each time the subject comes up subsequently, and have reverted to their original set of statements. They're exhausting people with less fruitful or interesting discourse to be had.
