Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Yusuf is actively pursuing policies that would result in his deportation if ever implemented, and he's the owner of the party. Cause and effect don't really have causal relationships in their minds.
If this guy thinks his political home is reform what the fuck was he ever doing in the Labour party?
This can only be interpreted as an attempt to save himself and keep his seat. I hope this flips to the Greens
Likely thought it was the best option for gaining his seat. Now he thinks otherwise.
Honestly when labour turned right wing. As a way to win elections. They opened them selves to members choosing them to win elections and nothing more.
Oh I'm sure the people who voted for him are going to be thrilled with that choice. I'm sure he's definitely going to keep his seat at the next election.

I was no great fan of Tony Blair but at least there was some attempt at competence.
Turn out is so lo for these local elections. Real idiots never get excluded.
If folks actually turned up to vote and paid attention to who was running. Things may improve.
But when high turnout locals still tend to be in the 10% or less of voters. Way lower for most.
Most councilors only have to rely on a few hundred loyal supporters at most to turn an election.
