"The truth is, look, you may have supported President Trump for 10 years like I did and like you have. But this is not the same man,” Greene insisted. “This is not the same man that we supported.”

As opposed to saying "we were wrong"

Shes still a piece of shit

It's a lie of course, and everyone knows it, but it's a useful lie. It gives people who want out of the cult a graceful exist without having to admit to being wrong.

Every person who turns against trump is a victory, regardless of their reasons or the quality of their character.

I was watching a Canadian political talk show and they brought some clips from early in his first term, him threatening fire and fury to North Korea which is not far off from the language he threatened Iran with.

So it's definitely the same guy pulling the same shtick, maybe with more advanced dementia, but crucially Trump has systematically (with the support from MTG and other MAGA faithful) removed anyone competent enough to prevent him from following through on his impulses. Those impulses that have always been there, and that Democrats and never-Trumper Republicans have warned about.

He's the same fucking psycho, she just doesn't want to admit it either.

[–] jimmy90@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

she can go all the way to the other end of the horse shoe and share her tales of jewish space lazers with her new comrades

[–] tyler@programming.dev 2 points 2 days ago

She might be so deluded as to think she’s never been wrong before, or to have never actually changed her mind on anything. If that is the case, then her mind actually changing might appear as if the thing it’s changing about is what changed, even if nothing there has changed at all.

The mind is incredibly good at deluding itself. And mental illness is rampant and in America barely noticed at all. She probably doesn’t think her mind has changed, literally.

Marge, it's been like 2 weeks since you left. You're still part of the group that needs to burn to the ground.

[–] Peppycito@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 days ago

She's pretty much the only rat that jumped ship so far.

[–] Sprocketfree@sh.itjust.works 11 points 1 day ago

You know .. she could have switched parties instead of retiring. Fuck mtg

[–] SleepyPie@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Busted her ass covering for him for years, viciously insulting and cooking up conspiracies about everyone who criticizes him and now is saying the things everyone has been saying all along.

Better late than never but what the fuck.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 4 points 1 day ago

She has definitely pulled from dem talking points as of late, but does so from her position on the right. It's akin to uncanny valley. It's just... Off.

Why is this dumb bitch in the news?

Cancel this cancer.

[–] Etterra@discuss.online 7 points 1 day ago

Hold on, let's hear her out on this whole "burn the Republican party to the ground" plan.

Heartbreaking: The Worst Person You Know Keeps Making Great Points

[–] AngryRedHerring@lemmy.world 8 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

I want to know if she's had any second thoughts about how she treated David Hogg.

I want to know how she looks back on her time as one of the howler monkeys disrupting the civil proceedings in Congress.

I want to know how come now that she's talking sense about Trump, she doesn't misspell anything anymore, she doesn't have her grammatical errors anymore... It's as though she's trying to appeal to a higher class of rube. She's no longer "trolling for corrections", as it was described to me by a print journalist.

It's like her MAGA persona was a carefully crafted portrayal of a nut job, exactly in the vein that she'd seen work before with Michelle Bachman, Sarah Palin, etc. I don't trust that bleach blonde bad built butch body any farther than I can throw her.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I never noticed that the errors mostly disappeared.

[–] AngryRedHerring@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

Funny how when she seems to have have gained a conscience is when I realize just how Machiavellian she is.

MTG a lying, racist, homophobic, fascist sympathising, uneducated and proudly ignorant disgrace of a human being.

Unfortunately a reflection of the people she represents.

I don’t care if she becomes a fully reformed leftist, if there was any justice in the world she and her ilk would have been sent to the wall a long time ago for the many deaths of children they’ve caused with their anti-vaccination nonsense.

“The truth is, look, you may have supported President Trump for 10 years like I did and like you have. But this is not the same man,” Greene insisted. “This is not the same man that we supported.”

Press X to doubt.

[–] Triumph@fedia.io 7 points 1 day ago

Narrator: It was the same man.

[–] circuitfarmer@lemmy.world 7 points 2 days ago

A broken clock is right twice a day.

I do hope those sheeple who followed her so diligently for so long are given a little pause, at least. But without intelligent thought to back that up, she'll just fade away.

[–] switcheroo@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago

I hate agreeing with this horrid broad. I truly hate it. The other day I agreed with fucking Cucker Tarlson!

Ugh this timeline blows.... Bubba.

[–] Cargon@lemmy.ml 3 points 1 day ago

Great, let's be sure she's on top of the pyre.

[–] DarrinBrunner@lemmy.world 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

I think a space laser killed her brain worm.

[–] P00ptart@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

I'm not sure she ever had one. She's not the psycho that she portrayed. She's more devious than that. She saw a way into power by being that person. Psychopaths can be very perceptive. She saw the tides turning, jumped in and started swimming to distance herself from the reckoning coming for the people who pushed this. Same as tucker. They don't have any real beliefs of their own.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 2 points 1 day ago

its great that "conservatives" believe that too although they have been heading in the direction way before trump and increasingly fast.

[–] TheReturnOfPEB@reddthat.com 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

If a party collapses then retired representatives of that party should lose their congressional pension and benefits.

[–] you_are_dust@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago (1 children)

We need an entire political reset. Start completely fresh on all sides.

[–] SolacefromSilence@fedia.io 3 points 1 day ago

Both/All sides amiright?

[–] audit69@programming.dev -2 points 1 day ago
