Same. I don't even think my wife and I would have ended up dating if it weren't for my cat. We were watching a movie and petting the cat and then he disappeared and we were holding hands. She was a great wingman.
And then there are people who say that "all men" by default misinterpret women being nice to them as flirting. Though even if, that might not help when trying to flirt with anyone else.
