He is a symptom, not a cause.

[–] Hawke@lemmy.world 36 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Yeah but symptoms are what kill the patient.

[–] Bloomcole@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

I really don't like the patient

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 17 points 3 months ago (1 children)

He is the brand of all of this though. If he goes, so does Maga.

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 17 points 3 months ago (2 children)

That's the point, this isn't true. They will find another.

[–] SeductiveTortoise@piefed.social 18 points 3 months ago (1 children)

But they'll have to find it first. Vance isn't it. At least all of this shit could cool down a little.

[–] mathemachristian@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It won't? The full-scale assault on Iran, lebanon and the free parts of palestine would just continue...

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

that's a pretty big assumption

[–] Feathercrown@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago (1 children)

It's just as much of an assumption to think it would stop, and given past examples the GOP doesn't tend to stop initiatives when they switch figureheads.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 2 points 3 months ago

and that democrats don't exactly change foreign policy when they are in power. however, we seem to be seeing what's more like the sundowning of a mad king than anything approaching what we could describe as "policy"

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

which will cause fractioning of the brand, which will likely make it unlikely for them to have this level of power again for at least a generation

[–] CorrectAlias@piefed.blahaj.zone 10 points 3 months ago

It sure helps to treat the symptoms though. It might not fix everything, but it sure would fix one thing.

[–] COASTER1921@lemmy.ml 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

I find it crazy how many so called isolationists support him on this. His whole platform was isolationism yet apparently more than 80% of his base supports this unprovoked war now.

[–] TubularTittyFrog@lemmy.world 11 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

it's called bandwagoning.

when he is gone, they will have never have supported him...

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 5 points 3 months ago

you know i have had this argument with my doctor. you still have to treat the symptoms. treating the cause means you have to treat less symptoms, but you still have to treat the symptoms or death comes a lot faster.

[–] mech@feddit.org 3 points 3 months ago

But him dying at the exact end of his ultimatum to Iran would still be funny.

[–] SolarMonkey@slrpnk.net 2 points 3 months ago

And when you get really sick and go to hospital, the first thing that happens is they control your temperature so your fever doesn't kill you. Fever is a symptom. A symptom that can cause irrevocable damage to your entire system.

Take my energy little blood clot

[–] ceenote@lemmy.world 31 points 3 months ago

It's a shame that a blood clot is more likely than checks and balances working.

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 30 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Let's not limit ourselves here, cardiovascular, pulmonary, neurological, circulatory, meteorological, cosmological, paranormal… I'm down for just about ANYTHING.

deontological?

[–] smuuthbrane@sh.itjust.works 5 points 3 months ago

Hell, zoological, xenobiological, I'm REALLY not fussy.

[–] Jhex@lemmy.world 4 points 3 months ago

his brain is fossilized already so yes, archeological works

[–] imsufferableninja@sh.itjust.works 28 points 3 months ago

His face definitely looks stroked out. Fingers crossed for another.

[–] phoenixz@lemmy.ca 24 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Please let it be something while there are hundreds of cameras on him.

Last thing we need is some conspiracy theory trying to make him a martyr. That'll happen anyways, but please let it be public, visible, and if he can shit his pants first, that'd be nice

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago* (last edited 3 months ago)

i have a public elvising on my uno card. whatever the game is. Eating a sandwich, having a heart attack, a bowel obstruction (toxic megacolon if possible), and shitting oneself all at the same time. On camera. I know it's astronomically unlikely but I have a coffee and a donut riding on it.

my favorite ban (it was only a temp ban sadly) from reddit was describing a public elvising of krasnov in detail and they said it was encouraging violence. i mean, i don't know how it is violence, but it is one of my fondest dreams yeah i do want to encourage that

It’s all fun to say this but let it play out in your head. Trump dies, Vance takes over and does a pseudo shuffle to make it look like policies are changing, negotiates with Iran as “under new management” and gets a decent concession, gas prices drop, and midterms don’t end with a complete blowout.

Trump’s approval is so low that I’m almost rooting for him to survive through November.

[–] BeigeAgenda@lemmy.ca 9 points 3 months ago

Part of me is rooting for the health event, the other one wants to see him, maga, gop and the Epstein class to be humiliated, prosecuted and convinced while everything they destroyed is restored.

[–] nonentity@sh.itjust.works 7 points 3 months ago

Just deploy the tactical covfefe hamberder and make his likeness eligible to be placed on their currency already.

[–] voiceofchris@lemmy.world 7 points 3 months ago (1 children)

A bullet to the heart generally causes a cardiovascular event.

[–] Sporting2968@feddit.uk 4 points 3 months ago

Praise be to Allah.

[–] cosmicrookie@lemmy.world 6 points 3 months ago (1 children)

As if that would change much.

It will take many generations of active work to re-establish trust to the IS from the rest of the world.

Trump is not the reason he is the symptom

[–] imsufferableninja@sh.itjust.works 15 points 3 months ago

The recovery can't start until the cancer is removed

[–] lena@gregtech.eu 4 points 3 months ago (1 children)

Be the change you wish to see in the world ❤️

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

i'm trying as hard as i can

[–] mo_lave@reddthat.com 3 points 3 months ago

If you are the world, can you stop time?

[–] MedicPigBabySaver@lemmy.world 3 points 3 months ago

Can I get one Widowmaker STEMI on this POS ‽

Thanks for your attention with this matter... MPBS.

Technically every event is a once in a lifetime event
