Like many amputees, I've taken boatloads of Gabapentin in my life, but I've never achieved that level of stoner face.

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 15 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Cause it doesn’t create a high lol

You can get dilated pupils from many medications that don't make you high, but make you look like you're off you tits on cocaine.

I don't recall ever looking like that on Gaba, but it looks like this little gal sure gets the magic eyes from it. Maybe it's a cat thing.

She's floppy, uncoordinated and is very sleepy on gaba. It definitely helps with her vet anxiety.

Yeah it makes you drowsy and can help you sleep. But it’s not a very good sleep and you wake up frequently. I’m a bit surprised they prescribe it to pets or even humans. A muscle relaxer like flexeril would be better for what it is normally prescribed for.

I disagree, in my case as someone with insomnia. I take it for a couple of things, one being insomnia. When I take my insomnia dosage, I sleep very well and very deeply. The key for me is to only take that higher insomnia dosage when I really need it, that way my tolerance for it doesn't increase.

Yeah, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t make a blanket statement like that. If it works for you, then that’s what matters.

We all react differently to drugs, and it frustrates me when my doctors do not listen.

I hope she's feeling better.

She hates the ear drops but she's doing ok.

This one is also high as a kite on gabapentin! We're moving across the country soon so the vet told me to test if before we go. She's very chill.

Those eyes seek murder! 😻

[–] CaptainPedantic@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago

Nah, they're seeking a lap to hide on lol.

I have a spicy kitty that gets gabapentin before the vet visits. Does your cat get floppy and compliant too?

[–] Bluescluestoothpaste@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago* (last edited 4 months ago)

No, my cat fights the vet until he's gabapentined enough where he can't hurt them anymore but he's still softly clawing and meowing at them the whole time XD

[–] Onomatopoeia@lemmy.cafe 3 points 4 months ago (2 children)

Interesting they use gabapentin for this.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 9 points 4 months ago (3 children)

They use it for everything. It’s useful for pain, withdrawal, anxiety and a number of other weird things. Humans, cats, dogs. Shit’s like a cartoon health pack that fixes anything.

[–] fahfahfahfah@lemmy.billiam.net 4 points 4 months ago (3 children)

They gave it to me for anxiety and it made me feel like I was dying, so clearly doesn’t work for everyone.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

Yeah, but you were probably too worried about death to be worried about school, work, relationships, trauma, or whatever else was on your mind. So, technically, it kind of worked.

[–] real_squids@sopuli.xyz 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

At least it had an effect lol, it's about as useful as candy for me. Pregaba is great tho

[–] stringere@sh.itjust.works 4 points 4 months ago

I'm more partial to yogabagaba.

[–] Onomatopoeia@lemmy.cafe 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I've had it, didn't do anything but give me awful gas.

[–] Ghostalmedia@lemmy.world 3 points 4 months ago

It’s also good for fart maxing

[–] Onomatopoeia@lemmy.cafe 3 points 4 months ago

cartoon health pack

Hahahaha

Yea, it is, just didn't know it was used as a single dose thing.

Neat
