Acoustics: Wake up 5 mins later than usual, making you skip the first step of the perfectly planned morning routine: MY DAY IS RUINED!! I might aswell skip work and hit me unconscious till tomorrow.

I am acoustic and i hear this.

[–] magikmw@piefed.social 9 points 2 months ago

Then there's acustic with time vortex capability. Read the whole internet, day is ruined anyway.

I wish it was that easy. But see? If you skip the first step, that's two minutes after waking up, the rest of the day is gonna be off, I'm gonna start the day badly and probably skip even some more steps of the routine out of disorientation.

I learned with a bunch of practice to set some "checkpoints" during the day; moments in which my routine "resets" and I can restart from there. So if I skip the first step of the morning routine, it will be tough until I reach the next "checkpoint" and things can start again from there. My first comment was mostly an hyperbole (I can survive if I wake up 5 minutes late), but it has truth on it since it is really difficult to move in the day without your routines.

You seem to have read this as a proposal. I’d still try to stick to the plan even if I lag behind and there is no realistic way to make it in time

[–] Swaus01@piefed.social 13 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Repeat after me: no checking phone screen until out of bed

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

I’m not allowed to look at a screen until I see the sky without glass between it and myself

[–] StupidBrotherInLaw@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Do what I do: set morning usage restrictions on your phone. When you wake up, immediately bypass them. Progress!

I have to wait until I'm at work.

[–] Swaus01@piefed.social 2 points 2 months ago

Yeah, that's the only time where it feels fulfilling actually 🤣

So kind of our employers to find a comfy well-lit office buikding for us to scroll through memes on, while we actually buckle down to work on the last 2 days of the week, eorkkmg from home.

  1. Wake up

  2. Grab a brush and put on a little makeup

  3. Hide the scars to fade away the shake up

  4. Leave your keys upon the table

[–] benderbeerman@lemmy.world 5 points 2 months ago (1 children)

You forgot step 5:

  1. Create another fable
[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 3 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago) (1 children)

"I think I would know if I forgot my keys on the table, Ben. Why would I lie?"

[–] benderbeerman@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

You wanted to?

[–] Kojichan@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

That's the exact reason I have my adderall and a glass of water sitting right next to my alarm. Doing just that has shaved an hour of faffing around off my morning routine.

[–] ThatGuyNamedZeus@feddit.org 6 points 2 months ago

I don't sleep in pajamas, but that happens sometimes

[–] snoons@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 months ago

remembers hunger exists, forgot to get groceries

[–] CultLeader4Hire@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

This is just a screen addiction being swept under the rug

[–] EchoCranium@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 months ago

I'm doing that right now. Really should get up.

[–] tr0xy@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Why are there so many ADHD memes in here?

I really just wanted to check the weather report 3h ago. Now I know a lot more about processed cheese, even though I’m vegan

[–] Grass@sh.itjust.works 1 points 2 months ago (1 children)

my family still thinks adhd is "hey look a squirrel disease" but every time I see a post about it I have an "oh fuck I'm literally doing that right now" moment and get more pissed off at them
