I have a payment card from cash app (which I never use but was given free money to get) that is glow in the dark! Took me about .003 seconds to realize in order for that card to actually glow in the dark it would have to be subjected to a light source for several minutes beforehand. Seeing as how I don't often keep a light in my wallet I have no idea what the hell they were thinking. There is no scenario in which I will ever pull out this card to pay for something and someone go "oh cool, it glows in the dark!" Unless I first say, "check this out... Just give me a minute here... Hang on... Ok, check it out, turn off the lights so I can pay."

I actually love this card for the conversation it provides. It's so stupid.

They charge way faster under an a black light… not sure how that helps unless you’re going to the club in Blade… which, come to think of it, probably wouldn’t be great for the vampires. But it made for a cool ass movie, fight me!

You can buy UV flashlights and charge it up before heading to the checkout :p

A small camera flash (bulb types) from old 35mm disposable cameras, will light up glow-in-the-dark things for a few seconds up to 1 minute.

I’m not seeing the upside there champ… they obviously cloned the card… which raises a few questions for me, because AFIK your not supposed to be able to do that with a debit card or credit card… at least not with a proxmox 🤔

True, banks don't like "unacceptable" graphics on their custom cards. Etsy you can buy a credit card cover sticker. I always wanted to buy one but I don't know the cheapness\durability of the sticker or want a liability if it jams in a machine on me. But they exist.

Some images from DDG...

I asked for and received a debit card with nothing on the front years ago. Everybody thought it was a cloned card. This was when you had to hand the card to the cashier.

What happens when the card no longer has any mongy left on it?

Presumably it’s funded from your account? That’s kind of the point of privacy-dot-com.

Haha there was a time when Wells Fargo let you out custom images on your card and one format was a square in the corner that you can put your picture in. I uploaded a similar MS Paint smiley and they accepted it haha.

I think the best thing you could do with a custom card is make it look like something worthless like a gas station rewards card. If anyone picks it up or steals it there's a chance they won't examine it closer and try to use it as money.

I was thinking a hotel key card for a hotel that's nowhere nearby.
