This looks like a reskinned Price of Persia:Sands of Time. Which came first? BTW, I really liked Sands of Time, so it's a huge thumbs up from me.
Metroidvanias
A space to talk about current and future Metroidvania games
The first Grime was 2021, so 3 years prior to PoP. But playing both, they play very differently and didn’t feel visually similar. I can see what you’re saying in the lighting and shaders.
There are demos for both Grime games, so it could be a good way to get a feel for them
I haven't watched any videos of first Grime, but this second one is very obviously running on the same engine at least. Again, that's a high praise from me, I will play the first Grime just because of that. 2nd one isn't available on Switch, so I can only play first one.
I really need to go back and give GRIME another shot. I played a couple of hours last fall but fell off, I think due to Soulslike fatigue at the time. It is a great game though and from the looks of it this is even better.
The only thing I'm hesitant about is the platforming gauntlets, I hate and suck at platforming (the two not at all being related I'm sure...).
Same with me on Grime 1.
In my opinion, avoid “MÍO: Memories in Orbit” if you’re not a fan of platforming. I had to avoid some pretty big areas of that game for how seriously hard some of the platforming challenges were.
Thank you for the warning. I had already suspected as much from some footage and other testimonies. Highly unfortunate as MIO looks absolutely beautiful but I want to save myself the frustration. Same reason I'm staying away from Hollow Knight and Silksong. Maybe one of the let's players I watch will play MIO, who knows. I'd like to see it as the game looks phenomenal.
