UK resident here: We are in a place still economically damaged by Brexit. Starmers dumbass party is making it worse in most ways by selling completely meaningless promises of safety that just give away our rights to privacy.

As if we needed another reason to stay the fuck away from apple products. Though, tbf, I'm sure android isn't far behind.

Google is barreling in this direction too, it's just more roundabout with the data collection. e.g. want to watch a YouTube video? You need to sign in to confirm you aren't a bot. No account? Just sign up... Oh, and give us your phone number. This video has war footage, you need to confirm you aren't a child. Etc.

Granted, this is way worse, because Apple is preemptively caving to a foreign power. This is the same company that used to stand up to the FBI.
