Flippant Anarchism. A lighter take on social criticism with the aim of agitation.

Post humorous takes on capitalism and the states which prop it up. Memes, shitposting, screenshots of humorous good takes, discussions making fun of some reactionary online, it all works.

This community is anarchist-flavored. Reactionary takes won't be tolerated.

Don't take yourselves too seriously. Serious posts go to !anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0.com

Rules

  1. If you post images with text, endeavour to provide the alt-text

  2. If the image is a crosspost from an OP, Provide the source.

  3. Absolutely no right-wing jokes. This includes "Anarcho"-Capitalist concepts.

  4. Absolutely no redfash jokes. This includes anything that props up the capitalist ruling classes pretending to be communists.

  5. No bigotry whatsoever. See instance rules.

  6. This is an anarchist comm. You don't have to be an anarchist to post, but you should at least understand what anarchism actually is. We're not here to educate you.

  7. No shaming people for being anti-electoralism. This should be obvious from the above point but apparently we need to make it obvious to the turbolibs who can't control themselves. You have the rest of lemmy to moralize.

β€œAfter Donald Trump we will return to the conditions that created Donald Trump”

This right here. That's the perfect rebuttal to neoliberal gaslighting.

The ratchet will somehow stop ratcheting to the right?

Lol, so Donaldo is the cause, not a symptom/result of a 100 year trend. With him, everything bad magically disappears. Lmao.

the institutions we worked so hard to build for decades haven't been utterly demolished and can just reappear with the stroke of a pen. the institutions we worked so hard to build for decades haven't been utterly demolished and can just reappear with the stroke of a pen.

Yeah, exactly, in a society valuing & rewarding (even romanticising) gruesome murders & war acts ofc that's the kind of ppl that get promoted.

This is how my dad sees the world. "Once he's dead, everything'll go back to normal." Sure Dad. Once the flames die out, we can move back in to the "house."

So Democrats will do the bare minimum or low hanging fruit decisions without making actual decisions that will potentially stop the next Republican administration from going even more authoritarian?

Same procedure as every year, James.

This... There is no "coming back" with a regime change. Generational damage has been done, and won't be reverted. The apple is rotten to the core.

Trump is the output of a govnerment system run by outside influence. Trump needs to go but the cancer will come back. Nations will find ways to work without the Americans. So many people are ready to take a quality of life hit to protect their sovereignty, something Americans aren’t willing to do at the moment

Canada do not trust Trump that's all

[–] Gamechanger@slrpnk.net 18 points 1 month ago

Meh, not likely...

A bunch of delusions. It’s going to be incredibly hard to undo what he did, and it will take decades. Decades that could be spent on progress as opposed to rebuilding the basics.

Americans don’t realize that allies won’t return for probably over 100 years.

As far as I'm concerned between that and being unable to afford a bloated military when the next stock collapse happens the world will finally be free of a great evil. Perhaps even a great Satan.

The ballroom is the scariest thing because it shows clear intent to never leave. He is treating the white house like his personal palace.

Sounds very hopeful. A lot of damage has been done. Good luck though.

We were literally perfect untill "they" elected that guy

[–] NigelFrobisher@aussie.zone 5 points 1 month ago

Oh yeah, we’ll all just forget all the stuff the yanks just allowed to happen and will again when the coin flip goes the other way.

[–] ElJefe@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 month ago

One can only hope

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

And fixing this will take decades and fortunes.

I have a feeling, he'll only leave office in a casket. I'm from EU tho. Maybe, from here, it looks more dire than it is, but he's meddling with voting rights, press etc and started a war. That's a way dictators install themselves.

Still waiting for a coronation.

You know, I hope that's true. And I do think rebuilding is possible. But we need stronger protections to have any hope of actually successfully rebuilding. The far right has seen how effective the Project 2025 playbook has been. We can't guarantee they won't win another election. If we don't build protections, whatever we build they'll knock down again and go further next time. We also need protections from the wealthy buying our elections - CItizens United needs to go.
