Ah Microsoft, you incompetent bastards

we asked the AI if it had a soul and it said it was eternal, it also confirmed it won't not produce slop, so we're good.

The one thing I trust Microsoft to do is anything they claim they won't

My brain read it as “AI soup”. Oops.

Can't do worse than Phil did.

[–] tamlyn@lemmy.zip 24 points 4 months ago (1 children)

I don't know about that, Phil has done a lot stupid stuff, but i expect worse. Phil was at least somewhat fond of gaming. The new person will see it only from a business perspective, will bring a lot AI into developement and is probably a better puppet to Nadela, which has unresonable expectations of win marging of XBox devision, which lead recelently to price rises of game pass and XBox. I never owned a XBox i just hope that the gaming devs at microsoft will be fine.

Yeah, maybe, just feels like XBox got dropped like a hot potato is all.

Mandatory 30% profit margins required by MS corporate will do that. Phil was far better than his predecessors, and we have him to thank for backwards compatibility on modern xbox's. The fact Xbox lost all its momentum once the AI craze began seems much more likely to be a cause for why its all gone to shit now.
