I would like another Langrisser game... Even though the tactical gameplay was rather meh, i would like to give a new game a chance to convince me. But mobile doesn't convince me, last mobile only langrisser game was slop. In theory it could be a single player game, but i doubt it. Well i shared it anyways, maybe there are langrisser fans here.

which might make Brigandine Abyss a contender for the most Fire Emblem-y game Intelligent Systems never made.

That's probably Tear Ring Saga and Berwick saga or maybe the Vesteria saga games. But sure, i would like this game to succesful and being a big contender to the fire emblem sytle of games. So that IS has some competition

I mean i'm currently in a learning process with Linux, i would like to be a power user like in windows, but i'm just not yet. I don't know if i would say disappointed, but i tried to use KDE first and would say my experience was rather bad, it was a bit buggy here and there and i didn't found out how to fix my problems. I'm surprised by it because i though i would like KDE for sure more, but i'm happy i switched to Gnome. So as the op said, part of the experience is choosing the right distro or in my case desktop enviroment is part of the experience.

Sure had few driver issues, or installing japanese was a bit of a struggle, but i have fun solving problems.

I don't know any game, but as far as i monitor it, proper physical games for third party are still the exception

[–] tamlyn@lemmy.zip 1 points 2 weeks ago (2 children)

First party games are Physical, but most third party are not. Game key cards are not physical for me. I play a few nintendo games, but i play far more games from different publisher, not really one company that has a majority. So this doesn't really matter much for me. Switch 2 started for me the dead of physical games, not as drastic as sony, but it was the beginning. I read a lot people say nintendo ist the only one left, well maybe kind of, but i really don't care much about this only one left. I will buy Fire emblem games physical as long as Nintendo support it and ocationally another game, so maybe 1-2 games a year from maybe 15 i buy over a year. So i don't see much of this home.

I started to play the Adventure of Elliot an Ellysium Tale. But while i'm playing it i rather think that this game is an action adventure than an rpg at all. I would say it's like a more action orientated top down Zelda with rpg sprinkles and a light breath of jrpg.

I thought i'm back playing jrpgs, but doesn't fell like it, may next game is a propper jrpg for sure again.

First of all, i think the performance is alright. The critic about that was probably a bit to much, sure there are loading times, but nothing horrible.

Ok now about the actual game, it feels like 2D Zelda, i expected a bit more rpg mechanics, so far i doubt it's even an rpg, but it really is like a 2D zelda. I'm not that far in, but having sword, boomerang and other weapons. Able to throw tall gras and pods, having life points like hearts, having something like heart pieces. I knew people compared it to zelda, but it's way more Zelda coded that i have expected. But on the other hand it lacks deph a zelda game has. If i'm in a bit city for example minish cap, there are so much secret to find, finding secret in wells, have here and there exciting npcs, there was nothing like that, so far, in The adeventure of Eliott. Probably a more action combat focused game, but i will see with further dungeons and secrets i see. Just an early impression.

But i enjoy it so far, it's a decent game at least will tell more when i played more.

i start to play The Adventure of Elliot, my first switch 2 game after mario kart. Didn't read to good stuff about the performance, but i hope it's alright, i thought it's a good hand held title.

Owlboy is very beautiful. Didn't played it myself but my girlfriend played it. So i didn't navigate through these darkness sections or spikes.

If it's that short and that cheap, you probably convinced me to give it a go at some point if i want something short to play.

Sure my answer is probably rather boring, but these abstract games would be your recommondation of a jrpg? I haven't played them, so i can't really say how they are, but they looks kinda crazy.

Usually if someone ask me something like that, i would ask if the person would try rather retro games or newer one. If the person would rather try a turn based game or some action rpg. But i try to recommend something without those informations.

I guess a game for a beginner, i probably biased, but i would just go with one of the older Final Fantasy, i would probably recommend just Final Fantasy X. JRPGs tend to be a bit longer, but Final Fantasy game doesn't take you, with a normal playthrough, 100 hours, but just arround 40 hours. I would say that's still aceptable.

And a jrpg i would recommend...probably A legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky (1st Chapter). Don't play this as first, but get addicted into the series and never run out of games...

If you rather like to start with an action game instead of turn based combat, i would probably say Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana

Satya Nadella has no clue about consumer products. He is maybe able to do much money with business software, for some reason. But not getting that something like a console is an emotional thing. People feel bad about a brand with big layoffs, with big rises in price for something like gamepass. With bad advertising like with the xbox one. They on the way of lossing more and more brand reputation. It's hard to find something they really excel in, currently. Sure phil spancer had a plan to make gamepass big and for a short amount of time, some people were praising gamepass. But now trusting gamepass is lost as well with such huge prices. I don't see Xbox being as big as with Xbox 360 anytime soon. They will try a reset, but their brand is already quite damaged, people will remember that for sure.

I don't think the competition is even that strong. Sony makes a lot money with playstation, but got a lot complains. Still, compared to Xbox they a lot more healthy. Asha Sharma has kind of a impossible task to make Xbox big again. Even more with such a stupid CEO, that want to make 30% profit value out of Xbox, something nobody does on gaming. The title say Xbox should be a sustainable business, but it is making even profit, but not enough for Nadella, so he pushes more and more stupid decisions to the Xbox Team.
