General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.

Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.

Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.

If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)

Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.

Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

So basically Reform are just becoming Conservative 2.0 but with more racism and sucking up to Putin/Trump

More that the Conservatives have been moving towards UKIP/Reform (functionally the same thing) for the last 5-10 years, so it's only a short hop to whoever seems like they'll be more popular this year.

But yeah, Reform really likes to focus on that pro-Trump, pro-Putin, pro-paedophile, pro-racist agenda.

@fakeman_pretendname @Corporal_Punishment the post-Farage UKIP seems to have gone the way of the BNP, while Reform is pretending to perform respectability politics (although isn't that far off the old BNP either). I almost miss Nick Griffin. At least fewer people swallowed his bullshit.

Please, take on all the people that caused the Tory implosion in 2024. Voters haven't forgotten the clusterfuck.

New party is same as the old party

Would you rather :

  • Be a part of the poor hating, ethnic minority oppressing conservative party that is run by a self hating ethnic minority woman, OR
  • Be a part of the poor hating, ethnic minority oppressing conservative party that is run by the white man that brought you the concept of Brexit

I have said this before, and I'll say it again, the racist wanker that preferred Boris J. over Sunak was right in the way he perceives british voters.

He's a racist and a wanker, and I don't think he's right, but his perception of british people is correct.
