I'm a bona fide alpha male. Imagine Joe Rogan but more buff and with additional BDE. When I talk everyone listens. I was the star of every sports team I've been part of. I can lift a motocycle above my head and then ride off into the sunset on it.

Usually posting fit-pics on insta but I accidentally clicked a link and ended up here.

we're on a niche open source reddit alternative built by communists, written in rust, with multiple sizable linux communities

We're early adopters. By definition: we're nerds.

[–] nokturne213@sopuli.xyz 1 points 1 year ago

No, I am a geek.

[–] kaitco@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

We’re only nerds if we come out of the Silicon Valley region of California. Otherwise, we are just sparkling geeks.

I wanted to be a nerd but I can't even geek. I'm more of a dork.

Yes, what was nerd is not nerd anymore

[–] sbv@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 year ago

What was once nerd is nerd no longer, but as the wheel turns, what was nerd will be next once again.

[–] IttihadChe@lemmy.ml 1 points 1 year ago

I'm the only one, sorry.

[–] libra00@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Everyone is a nerd about something. That's how interests work in general: you only ever get called a nerd for being interested in something that others aren't interested in, but they're also interested in stuff you're not interested in, so..

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I think you're mixing up "nerd" and "geek" here.

[–] libra00@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Eh, I see them as fairly interchangeable. There's some subtlety in the difference between them, but.

I'm not. College dropout waitress married to an artschool dropout chef.

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I don't believe you, you use Lemmy. You are at least somewhat nerd.

[–] Nemo@slrpnk.net 1 points 1 year ago (9 children)

Ah, but I'm on the anarchist instance.
