Aldi is cheaper and better quality. Also, they dont have 20 self serve checkouts ran by a single underpaid, overworked employee
long ago aldi was hit or miss but now im hard pressed to have something they sell not be that great.
Germany actually has standards.

aldi is the only place they are allowed to sit. cashiers in the USA never sit. it is seen as lazy.

For fucking real. At least those fatigue mats have become more normalized but honestly it was just workers stealing them from the floor to stand on them.

Who cares what they do, they can have a nap for all I care. As long as I am able to make my purchase in a timely manner and they're not rude, I don't care what they do.
Yup, there is/was a thing where stores wouldn't let cashiers sit down because, according to customer service logic (and the opinions of a few extremely opinionated customers), it looks "lazy".
Something is really wrong with that country, doing sadism to employees simply to not appear lazy.
And even in bloody USSR such conveniences were mandated first, despite, eh, Soviet people not living very rich lives.

The main difference between Aldi and current US commercial models is that Aldi does not undertake price scalping. Walmart et al appear to work out price scalping to generate the greates shareholders value at the expense of losing the poorest customers to other stores. In Europe, Aldi and Lidl have cleaned up and stayed true to principles.
I feel like Aldi would do great in Utah but there are none here.

Trader Joe's is operated by Aldi Nord, while Aldi in the U.S. is operated by Aldi Sud; two separate companies.

Being the same company doesn't help with prices.
I love how fast the checkout is. The thing I detest most about my local Dillons (Kroger) is how long the lines get because they rely on self checkout and refuse to employ enough staff to open more checkout lanes. Aldi is lightning fast by comparison.
