MODERATORS

  • Yes, the major city protests were run by known and open neo-Nazis. Yes, the designated speakers were consistently and explicitly advocating European/"White" supremacy. These are pro-fascist protests by design, and it's concerning that many people didn't recognise the previous one for what it evidently was.
  • They are planning to run a third March for Australia rally on 26th Jan, and other similar far-right/fascist protests have been planned between now and then. And if we don't continue to grow the counter protests and stamp this out like last time, the fascists will keep escalating.

There is no way there was 15000 at first Adelaide rally.

The impression I had before these rallies was that they were a great recruitment drive opportunity for Nazis.

The impression I had after these rallies was that they were a successful Nazi recruitment drive.

I loved old mate flag bearer in the high-vis at the Brisbane march footage. He didn't need anyone else there, his day was all about that flag.

I get so embarrassed when I see these idiots. I can't watch this video, the cringe is too much for me.

No, the organisers of these marches are literal, out-and-proud Nazis.

As desired by Australia's own Rupert Murdoch

Australia’s own Rupert Murdoch

lol no. Murdoch's an American.

[–] cabb@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Wikipedia says Murdoch was born in Melbourne and lists 3 news organizations he owns in Australia. Fairly certain he can be called Australian.

Dude literally made the choice to give up his Australian citizenship. He's negative Australian, less Aussie than some random American who's never been here and doesn't know anyone here.

That's just a legal requirement to own American news networks.

Australia clearly doesn't have a problem with him or his companies.

Bahahaha.

International law says he's American, not Australian. And he's a US immigrant. Maybe ICE should pay him a visit.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I would actually pay to see that

[–] No1@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago

The level of "DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM?" would open a wormhole through to the gates of hell itself.

[–] Zagorath@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago

So he values mercantilism and personal profit more than his own country? I can't think of anything more American!

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago

Actually surrendered his Australian citizenship to get more US media power. So while born here, he ain't aussie no mo.

[–] Taleya@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago

This is an event that was explicitly linked multiple times to known nazis, had literal nazi speakers and was organised by nazis.

You don't look like an edgelord here, at best you like like an apologist trying to muddy the waters

[–] Seagoon_@aussie.zone 0 points 10 months ago

Just saw a guy today with nazi tattoos. Unashamed.

It's just awful.
