U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, once a top campaign surrogate for Donald Trump, has resigned amid a misconduct probe.

“Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime,” Guilfoyle said Tuesday in a post on X announcing her resignation.

She also addressed “recent allegations against me,” writing, “These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity.”

Guilfoyle’s post came shortly after new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia told reporters that Guilfoyle had been asked to step down.

So you’re equating carving a swastika into your forehead to getting a lot of plastic surgery?

Yes. Both are absolutely being done to make a statement and to identify the self as a part of larger group making the same statement. But why?

The link I posted for the Manson women explains exactly why in their own words.

Kimberly Guilfoyle alters her body with vastly expensive plastic surgery and a specific look to make it plan that she is a part of this very exclusive group of ladies who all look the same, partnered to men who control the fraction of the 1% that rule the world. It very successfully says: "You will never look like me, you will never afford to look like me, you will never wield the power I wield," even as she begs a donor to clear her $100K American Express bill that she cannot pay herself on the eve of her Senate confirmation hearing to be appointed ambassador to Greece.

But why would anyone need to even make that kind of statement with their bodily appearance? That's the question you should be asking and are trying everything in your power to avoid seeing.

Hint: It's not about whether you are a man or a woman, it is about extreme insecurity, coercive control, and mental illness.

This face is a comfort for a fascist to behold.

I've been wondering exactly what the roots that led to these specific faces are. Any expensive surgery could do for signaling. This face ended up being the one for some deep, shared psychological reason.

Studying paintings done by the mentally ill, it becomes obvious that they don't see faces (or anything really) like the average person. This makes sense as even a well adjusted person will interpret an expression or tone differently depending on what they perceive the person to be feeling, or even their own mood. They will literally see it differently. The mentally ill just see an extreme version of this phenomenon.

Fascists are terrified all the time. To them, every face must hide malice and deception. Mar-a-lago face is an exaggeration of a jovial, open, honest visage, to counteract what a fascist sees in every face.

They have huge, puffy cheeks under their eyes, like the bunching of skin in a smile. Their lips are big and puffy, a far cry from pursed in anger, and they also make a smile more exaggerated. Their eyes are deeply, darkly outlined in ovals, not pointed at the edges, highlighting how they are open and not squinting or angry.

Maralago face is a caricature of a happy, loving, honest face. To a normal person it looks like a horrific joke on that type of face, but to a fascist, these exaggerations push back against their own skewed vision of every face.

To a fascist this face appears more normal and more comforting than a normal face.

I think you're 100% right.

I've been considering it for a while, every time I'd see one of these jarring photographs of extreme facial alteration and again just now when I was trying to explain why someone so seemingly well-placed and connected as Guilfoyle would go that far, why any of the Mar-a-Lago women would make caricatures of themselves as they have so obviously done.

And it occurred to me: maybe they're just terrified. Maybe they're all scared shitless in that way you are when you're running an unseen marathon to escape a looming danger, when you're pouring your heart and soul into not going under in a bad situation. This too is what a number of the Manson women had in common with the Mar-a-Lago women: their men were anything but safe.

And then you came along and put words and observations to it. You put a much finer point on it, and a more factual one (there are studies that substantiate what you say about the mentally ill not seeing faces the same way others do, for example) but somehow, some way, FEAR -- which is the driver of all things fascist anyway, as you reminded us -- is at the heart of this extreme self-modification too.

Really good comment. I have been very interested in the why of these people for quite some time, and I learned a thing or two. Thank you for taking the time to write it.
