U.S. Ambassador to Greece Kimberly Guilfoyle, once a top campaign surrogate for Donald Trump, has resigned amid a misconduct probe.

“Serving as the United States Ambassador to Greece has been the honor of a lifetime,” Guilfoyle said Tuesday in a post on X announcing her resignation.

She also addressed “recent allegations against me,” writing, “These allegations are false, and I intend to vigorously defend my name, my reputation, and my integrity.”

Guilfoyle’s post came shortly after new White House press secretary Katie Zacharia told reporters that Guilfoyle had been asked to step down.

Must have been really bad for this administration to ask for a resignation.

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 54 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Trump didn't get cut in on the deal, every mafioso knows that's not how you do business in a crime syndicate.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 6 points 5 days ago

This. She didn’t give him his points.

[–] Warl0k3@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago

Nah, she's a woman and they're purging those from eeeeverything.

[–] Hapankaali@lemmy.world 18 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I wonder what's the real reason, perhaps a feud between her and Don Jr? Surely these minor corruption allegations (by Trump admin standards) can't be it.

[–] Atelopus-zeteki@fedia.io 10 points 6 days ago

That's what I was thinking, there must be some part to this that we just won't ever know about.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 4 points 6 days ago

Sounds like she took the bribe but didn't deliver.

[–] JeeBaiChow@lemmy.world 13 points 6 days ago (2 children)

It was for a trifling $100k? Elon's midterm donations are almost 4x that. Go big or go home.

[–] Duchess@piefed.linenoise.vip 21 points 6 days ago (2 children)

Elon’s midterm expenses that can be tracked are over 3,600x $100,000. That isn’t hyperbole.

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 5 days ago

That's what we're aware of. I'd be shocked if he wasn't funneling dark money in other ways

This was only one of the people that *has talked about it.

  • There's guaranteed to be more
  • He already gave 300k, and offered a million if she could get the taxes things worked out
  • He is as dumb as a bag of rocks. He admitted the bribe because she wasn't following through with her promises.
[–] zd9@lemmy.world 9 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Or... she's a woman so actually has to face consequences.

[–] jj4211@lemmy.world 5 points 6 days ago

That has been a clear pattern in this administration. Kristi Noem, Pam Bondi...

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 days ago

Not really, it's a woman, the rules are different.

Bro... did you guys know that she was not only Trump Jr.'s fiancée but also was MARRIED to Gavin Newsom!? Her type is apparently greasy rich white guy who is literally one of the worst people in their respective political parties who fucking hates poor people.

[–] TrickDacy@lemmy.world 32 points 6 days ago (2 children)

I didn't know she was married to Newsom. Jesus Christ...

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 34 points 6 days ago (2 children)

It's all one big incestuous swamp, isn't it.

[–] Malica@lemmy.zip 3 points 5 days ago

Back when she looked human

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 5 days ago

Yeah. We absolutely cannot allow that slimeball to win the Democratic nomination

[–] Raiderkev@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago) (2 children)

I have some tea on her that I'd love to spill, but it'd probably doxx me.

Edit removed the last sentence

Nah, this ain't the reason. She refused a BJ to someone important.

The government watchdog’s probe comes as legal consultant and longtime Donald Trump supporter and donor Eric Deters has accused Guilfoyle of asking him to pay her outstanding $100,000 American Express bill in the days before her 2025 confirmation hearing in exchange for access to senior administration officials.

Hey Kim, THE BEST - IS YET - TO COME!

[–] YurkshireLad@lemmy.ca 15 points 6 days ago (9 children)

That’s a plastic face if ever I saw one.

They all look like if Janice tried to stay relevant after The Electric Mayhem broke up, then crashed out and started posting racist shit on Twitter.

[–] Inucune@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Do we go 'Lizard people' or 'mark of the beast upon their heads' with this one?

[–] pulsewidth@lemmy.world 7 points 6 days ago

She's looking in two directions at once, so I'm leaning lizard people.

Damn she even made her face look like a Big Mac and Trump still doesn't want her? What gives?

[–] Cornpop@lemmy.world 4 points 5 days ago

Quack quack you duck faced bitch, get fucked

[–] tigermountain@lemmy.world 5 points 5 days ago

What a piece of trash this bitch is.

[–] anarchy79@lemmy.world 3 points 5 days ago (1 children)

She has Pepe the Frog face.

[–] bedwyr@piefed.ca 2 points 5 days ago

Mall a froggo face I think they are calling it, or something like that.

It's funny, or sad, as by trying to remain attractive they become very unattractive to those same men, and every other person.

I wouldn't mention it if she wasn't an unaplogetic piece of shit fascist.

[–] LazyOldPervert@lemmus.org 5 points 6 days ago

So the best is really yet to come then

[–] spacegoat@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

Lady looks like a chewed up garbage pail kid card

Theres proof not just allegations

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 2 points 5 days ago

“She was so desperate for that $100,000. It was a quid pro quo,” Deters told NBC News in an interview.

“She said I could ask her for anything and everything in Trump world. There was no request too big,” he added.

So she's been acting like POTUS?
