"Name" is deliberately vague. It can be how you present yourself or some ideal you aspire. In other words, your profile picture is a personal thing.

That makes sense. I recall that Stalin, Lenin and others used aliases a lot in their works and mostly disliked the cult of personality that formed around them, so I think they would agree with you. But to add to your point, I think names help with accountability as well, since we present ourselves to the world using them.
