In general online, not really, though it's probably a good idea to think more in those terms than in terms of personal identity obsession.

On here, it was somewhat intentional not having a profile pic and being named as I am. I don't remember quite how I put it in the form you fill out to join, but IIRC, it was something along the lines of poking at fame of a name in relation to revolutionary figures; like the weirdness of being some average person and then having statues made of you and stuff because you happened to be a person who rose to prominence. So it being literally a memorable name but also not one at all due to its lack of specificity and meta silliness is a sort of anti-fame, anti-ego thing for me.

Not that there's anything inherently wrong with someone rising to prominence as a result of being an effective revolutionary, but that happens from being a skilled organizer, not from posting a lot. And I believe that if people listen to what I have to say in an online pseudo-anonymous capacity, it should be because it's a good take, not because I said it. The ones who deserve that level of trust are the ones who have proven themselves as known leaders of a vanguard, whose words are proven to be closely connected to substantial action that has materially improved people's lives, using the science of dialectical and historical materialism. In the capacity I have takes here, I am at best a teacher trying to help with learning, while also trying to learn more myself.

That said, it's not like I'm going around judging other posters for how they named themselves. It's just a thought process I went through when choosing my own name.
