Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Still 37% yanks approve of him.... still way too high for a lying child rapist
No matter how many articles I see about Trump's popularity tanking, it's ALWAYS 37% of the population that supports him. I wonder what's up with that. Like why that exact number? Does about a 3rd of the population have brain damage or something?
Because a third of the US was trained from birth to think that the Dems are literal baby eating Satan worshipers.
They sit there and think "at least trump doesn't want to kill the babies, just fuck them"
Theres rumors he killed some of those kids he fucked. And definitely testimony that he beat them.
And yet every fucking headline says it's dropped off a cliff. And yet every single time I know it'll be somewhere around 37%.
Remember that, even at the point at which Nixon got on a helicopter and flew off in utter disgrace and shame, he still had people supporting him. 24%. Nearly 1 in 4.
And boy, those people were pissed that he got what they thought was a raw deal by the "liberal media". Any conservative adults in my life would go on about it, even as Ronnie Raygun's crew was wrecking America, they still had a burning resentment about it. If I recall, people like Ann Coulter spent some time writing about it.
Faux "News" and hate radio were born out of that seething hatred for the truth.

Unfortunately the religious population of the US has been turning a blind eye to lying child rapists for generations, I doubt they will stop anytime soon.
And that's why America is fucked. You don't need to convince 50% of Americans to be reasonable, you need to convince 80% of decent Americans to be reasonable. There's literally only 20% margin of error in the people not in a cult to keep the place running.
I think the only way to get out of this mess is to let the whole thing fall apart. I can't even convince my own sisters to get off of fucking Twitter and Facebook, and they know how bad it is! There's no way any critical mass of people are going to give enough of a shit to fight unless we're all homeless. It really feels that way.
I think a lot of people are incurious as well. My own sister thinks Israel "had every right to go to war" and thinks I am some sort of hippie for only ever caring about the harm done to Palestinians. She knows every historical detail about LGBTQ issues, but had never heard of the Nakba, doubts my description of it, and isnt interested in hearing anything about it.
She will stand for her rights, and any female candidate, but I guess everyone else can go fuck themselves. Its difficult.
It could drop to 0 and he'd still be POTUS
If it dropped to 0, he would be impeached.
While that's true, it's worth remembering that congresspeople and senators see these results, and take them into account when deciding whether to support or oppose trump. If his approval rating gets low enough, other politicians will start seeing it as detrimental to their careers to support him. If just a few republican senators or congressmen start actively opposing him, his power will be significantly reduced. If it goes low enough they might even decide that it's in their own best interest to either impeach or 25th him. The last two are a loong shot, but the point stands that terrible approval ratings can actually have tangible impact on things.
Don't worry, at the rate American power is declining in a few years it won't matter what the yanks think.
In the meantime let's drain as much capital from the place we can.

I dont know that we Americans need any help burning all our wealth and destroying our country, but be my guest I guess.
I'm sure when America is completely broke and wheeling around wheelbarrows full of money to buy bread, we'll be able to say, "Maybe the real treasure was the friends we made along the way"
